ISI Admission Test 2025 syllabus for the academic session 2025-2026 released by the examination conducting body in the information brochure after the release of the exam notification. There has been no change in the syllabus from previous years; therefore, candidates can check out and do their ISI exam 2025 preparation from the previous year's syllabus. 

The ISI Admission Test 2025 syllabus precisely contains the important topics that a candidate needs to study while preparing for the examination. The ISI admission test 2025 exam will be held on May 11, 2025 at various exam centres across the nation.

NOTE: Candidates must note that admissions to the Bachelor of Statistical Data Sciences (BSDS) will be made through JEE Main and CUET UG exams.

BStat/ BMath Syllabus 2025

Given below is the previous year's syllabus for reference.

Algebra: Sets, operations on sets. Prime numbers, factorization of integers and divisibility. Rational and irrational numbers. Permutations and combinations, basic Probability. Binomial Theorem. Logarithms. Polynomials: Remainder Theorem, Theory of Quadratic Equations and Expressions, relations between Roots and Coefficients. Arithmetic and Geometric Progressions. Inequalities involving arithmetic, geometric & harmonic means. Complex numbers. Matrices and determinants.

Geometry: Plain Geometry. Geometry of 2 dimensions with Cartesian and polar coordinates. Equation of a line, angle between two lines, distance from a point to a line. Concept of a Locus. Area of a triangle. Equations of circle, parabola, ellipse and hyperbola and equations of their tangents and normals. Mensuration.

Trigonometry: Measures of angles. Trigonometric and inverse trigonometric functions. Trigonometric identities including addition formulae, solutions of trigonometric equations. Properties of triangles. Heights and distances.

Calculus: Sequences - bounded sequences, monotone sequences, limit of a sequence. Functions, one-one functions, onto functions. Limits and continuity. Derivatives and methods of differentiation. Slope of a curve. Tangents and normals. Maxima and minima. Using calculus to sketch graphs of functions. Methods of integration, definite and indefinite integrals, evaluation of area using integrals.

How to Answer Part 2

There will be nine questions asked in the examination. These nine questions will be divided into three sections. One question is needed to be answered from three sections each. Also one question to be answered from all the three sections. To be more precise, four questions are needed to be attempted overall. Candidates will be awarded 30 marks for the correct answer. There will not be any negative marking for incorrect answers.

Q:   What is the ISI Admission Test negative marking scheme?
A: 

ISI Admission Test 2025 exam pattern depicts that there will be two sections in the examination where section A will have multiple choice questions (MCQ) and section B will have descriptive type questions.

Only the section A will have negative marking scheme. For every correct answer +4 marks will be awarded to the candidates and to every wrong answer marked by the candidates, -1 mark will be deducted.

As section B is descriptive in nature no marks will be deducted for the incorrect answer marked by the candidates.
