SCMHRD Highlights 2025

On Highlights
Q:   How is the college life at SCMHRD?
A:

Shared by two of my Symbian friends.

"Initial days were synonymous with 10+ hours of screen time because you were added to multiple WhatsApp groups. There was a WhatsApp group for everything, state-wise groups, city-wise groups, sports groups- you name it, and there was a group for it. Everyone was excited to know more about their batchmates; late-night video calls were the only way to do it, so we made the most out of it.

Later, when the course commenced, a typical day began with morning lectures at 9:30 am with breaks of 10–15 minutes, which continued until 1 pm. The visiting faculty at SCMHRD is good at their subjects if you pay attention to them.

Then post-lunch, the lectures continue till 4 pm. After which, we continue with our committee work which forms the exciting part of the day. This is an arena where you learn the most and share with each other how the college is going so far.

You do not get to sleep much, but you’ll embrace the hustle."

"First of all let's get this straight that MBA life is hectic but difficult. Hectic because you are always loaded with assignments, PPTs, tests, exams and stuff. Not difficult because I think the difficulty part gets over as soon as you crack the entrance, clear the GDPI and take addmission. From there you can just go with the flow and after one semester you will have your own tricks, methods and ways of understanding the subject, clearing the exams and handle the faculty members, staff and your owe college mates. It is all about how you manage people and play your cards. Coming to the hectic part, YES. It is hectic. There are times when we would have classes from 8 am to 9 or 10 pm or 11 sometimes in the evening and then preparing for the tests, evaluations or exams the very next day. Same was the case with HRD guys. Amidst all this, you will have to manage your respective committees, sports groups, tournaments, arts, drama group, college band and  alot more. Preparing for fests, guest lectures and boy, if you are a part of the placement cell then clearly you'll have to plan your meal time also. During the fest season, you'll work for it and also you'll find yourself giving 6 7 evaluations per day which lasts for a month or so. Then once the placement season starts you will have to divide your focus and concentration between your job preparations and your daily routine at the Campus and clearly there is no running away. You cannot. But it is fun too, all the extra curricular that you do and take part in helps you create memories for life, makes you a better person and also helps taking your mind off studies and thus help you in chilling out !

Once a Symbian always a Symbian"

It is the best and emerging college for management courses.
Placements: An average of 85% of the students of the final year got placed. It is a very good college to sharpen our skills, and the remaining placement cell will handle. They provide you with some best internship opportunities in the corporate sector if you sincerely do your work. A lot of students get internships, and some of them have good contacts of the corporates, so they go through that.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is well-maintained, and every year renovation takes place with all the facilities. The canteen provides fresh food, and sports equipment is available within the college campus. Hostels are clean and well-maintained by the warden. The mess provides good food, especially morning breakfast.
Faculty: Faculty members here are highly experienced, and some of them come to teach from the corporate sector. Every week industry special lectures take place to give the introduction of how the industries are changing and what are the requirements to go into those sectors. Average faculty, average placements and average infrastructure.
Placements: Top recruiters are Godrej, HUL, ITC followed by number of dream companies like EY, KPMG, PWC, Delloite, HSBC, Aditya Birla group, Reliance etc. However placements are too subjective, if company come switch its own shortlisted students list then it's good and if not then the shortlisting can really be biased. It will be tough time for the students who do not network and work in silos.
Infrastructure: College and classrooms has Wi-Fi, library has good collection, hostel rooms have LAN connection and rooms are clean. Not satisfied with the food and mess facility, medical facility aren't at par, good sports activities. Campus area is too short but sufficient for all your needs. It has a juice shop, Xerox centre, Daily needs shop, Canteen and "urban karta" food counter.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and the teaching is good as well. Depends upon students how they utilise the availability of teachers. However the course structure is not at par. The course is more of traditional pattern. The generation requires disruptive pattern, more interactive and more challenging.

Good faculty, good summer internship and college name is growing steadily.
Placements: 1. Approximately 80% of the students were placed 2. 38 Lacs, 15Lakhs, 9Lakhs were the CTC offered. 3. Godrej, reliance, L'Oreal, visit for campus recruitment. 4. Sales manager, marketing trainee were the roles offered. The initial position offered is of a trainee and after the probation period the designation is given. Not much aware of the position given 5. 38 lakhs, 15 Lakhs 10 lakhs on an average were the CTC offered by the companies for my course 6. 75% students got internship, godrej, Vodafone. Reliance were few of the many companies which had come to campus.
Infrastructure: 1. The facilities and infrastructure available are pretty decent. Wi-Fi is an issue at times but when talking about the classrooms and library, they are well maintained and comfortable. The labs too have sufficient number of computers which function well 2. Medical, sports and games facilities are good. The hostel and food facilities can improve.
Faculty: Few teachers weren't as par to what expected. However few faculty members did rise above the expectations 2. The course is pretty much related and it does make the study industry ready. There is always scope for improvement. There must be certain subjects removed and certain added.
Other: 1. I choose my course out of interest. I would get to travel, meet different people, use my interest and add benefit to my career 2. There must be more live case scenarios and practical examples or projects given which adds benefit.
