Mystory@ Hrithik Kalra Vedatya is not only making me a culinary master but helping me develop as a person

Culinary has been an area of interest since childhood. Apart from participating in various culinary competitions, working with the top chefs and hotels has always been my dream. The answer to the question of how these people and places work was eventually found in Vedatya.

Since the CBSE board had decided to retake the class 12 economics exam, I barely had any time to prepare for the competitive exams. Although on the sides I kept reading about various hotel departments, their hospitality and their marquee cuisines. Apart from analytical and communication, general knowledge was a key ingredient for clearing all exams. For analytical I joined a coaching institute as I was new to the subject. For Vedatya, there were 2 rounds. The first one being a group discussion followed by a personal interview. For the PI round, a good personality and confidence are important. I received a mail from Vedatya after which I visited the campus and met the faculty.

The overall experience at Vedatya has been very pleasant. The real picture of the hospitality industry is shown. Also, at first I thought to become a chef all you need is culinary skills, but there is much more to it. Communication skills, along with a good personality, is very important. The faculty out here is exceptional, always welcoming and helpful. The lectures are detailed and the institute invites some of the best from the field of hospitality to give guest lectures and improve the teaching modules. I have also visited the rice plant of the big great brand, Dawat. The internship opportunities provided by the Vedatya are copacetic. There are two options for the internship as well as domestic and international internship. The infrastructure provides a working and learning vibe. There is a quantity kitchen and a beginners basic training kitchen. The college is not just limited to classes, there are annual competitions in all sports and the environment out here is of active sportspersons as well.

Faculty helps in the projects which are mandatory as per the course. They are always there for any query and they take care of the registration and other formalities which proves very helpful and saves a lot of time.

I have done two internships and the experience has been very helpful. For special interests of the students, there are various clubs to enhance the experience in Vedatya institute. Various clubs are there for students like Cultural Society, Finance Club, Sports Club, Hospitality Competitions Society, Human Resource Club, Literary Society, Marketing Club, Quizzing society, etc.

The university has some brilliant corporate backing which helps us get enough experience in the field before we actually step out in the open. Some of these prodigious organizations are Kitchen aid, IHG(Intercontinental Hotels Group), Ashoka, Columbia Asia. These partners help in placements opportunities and equipment for practical sessions and other events.

To be honest, Vedatya is not only making me a culinary master but is helping me develop as a person in total.
