Wine not only is affordable when compared to other liquor and cocktails when serving at an event, but it also is a more premium option to choose for. But, what makes wine more affordable? A bottle of good quality wine made in India could cost an average of Rs 1,500 at any fine-dine restaurant. In terms of consumption, wine is also consumed in lesser quantities when compared to other types of liquor. It is drunk slowly and hence, is consumed less. A consumer drinks not more than 2-3 glasses of wine.

Classy & socially-affordable

When organizing a house party or a small get-together, hosts mostly prefer serving wine to the guests as that is more socially-acceptable alcohol and also brings a classy touch to cozy conversations. Wine is known to have a low alcoholic strength coupled with a fruity bouquet of taste. In fact, alcohol initiators or the first-time drinkers see wine as one of the best options as it is not bitter like beer or botanical-flavored gin that could give a burning sensation to the throat.

The consumption of wine has grown manifold in India owing to the rising number of manufacturing units in the country. Many autonomous bodies such as the Initiatives by Indian Grape Processing Board and the All India Wine Producing Association are taking steps to make wine popular among classes as well as masses by organizing wine training & tasting events and wine exhibitions. Also, various clubs have been formed and bloggers and media have been roped in to spread the word. Social media also plays a crucial role in creating a new market among youth.

So, if you are an event planner, it is suggested that choosing the correct wine and designing the menu around it is your key to a successful event.
