Mystory@Devika: How I selected my college and course
Economics was my favorite subject in class 12th. It was the only subject I had, with all the concepts cleared. This indeed made me score a good percentage in boards. All these positive facts about Economics and my liking towards the subject lead me towards pursuing my Graduation in Economics Hons.
How I selected my college
I always wanted to pick a college that was not distant from my place. This was to devote equal time to my family and college, while focusing on my studies. Other facts like College infrastructure, lecturers and the environment was number two on my priority list while making a choice of college. After all the research, Shyama Prasad Mukherji College for Women, Delhi University (DU) was where I wanted to seek admission. Lucky me! I secured a seat with my name in the first cut off list.
I advise every student seeking admission in any college/university, to prefer college near your place. This will let you enjoy your college life without bothering the consequences of getting late while returning home.
What I gained from my college years
I have always been interested in seminars, workshops and extra curriculum activities. Given a chance, I even wish to perform a dance act during the yearly college fest.
Teachers of SPMCW are very cooperative, helpful and motivating. They leave no chance to boost the morale of their students. One of my favorites is our Economics Teacher. Other faculty members are no less but favorites are always special. I have also participated in various extracurricular activities held at our college, namely "Hariyali Diwas" (poster making competition), and also organised a cooking competetion in the college fest, leading the team as the event head. Winning the first position in Collarge competition themed as "Ethnic vs Westerns" was one of my life's best experience & also a proud moment that I will never forget.
