No, CLAT is not a compulsory exam to study for LLB. Some other exams include  MHCET LAW, etc. Candidates interested in joining top NLUs can appear for this exam because NLUs only accept CLAT scores. Also this university does not accept the scores of other entrance exams for example CLAT, CAT etc. But to get direct admission there are several criterion of minimum marks scored which include aggregate marks scored in class 12th for undergraduate courses and aggregate marks scored in graduation and class 12th for postgraduation courses.
