International Management Institute, Bhubaneswar initiates its admission process in December every year. Every aspiring candidate needs to fill the application form with basic personal and professional information along with educational qualification (this is when exam results are not out). Once the results are out, the candidates need to fill their respective exam scores in the form based on which candidate gets a call for GD-PI round.
In the evaluation round, the candidate is judged on certain parameters; once the application gets shortlisted, then comes the Group Discussion round where the candidate is judged based on his/her interpersonal and communication skills.
The next round is Personal Interview round where for personal screening the candidate gives an extempore followed by interaction with the concerned panellist who will be screening the candidate based on his/her past experience, educational qualification, general awareness and body language.
But due to the pandemic coronavirus crisis, the college authority had to make some changes in the personal interview round with candidates. The admission process remains the same but now the whole process is conducted online (virtual mode). The topic of extempore was given while interviewing the candidate through Skype and 10 minutes were allotted to the candidate to submit their essay on the given topic through mail.
All the process i.e from applying for the college till confirmation of admission is done through mail and telephonic conversation. Once the candidate gets the offer letter from college, then they can clear their queries through phone calls to respective admission and administrative teams.
The candidate needs to fill the offer letter within a week and send the scanned copy to the admission department. Once the paperwork gets over the candidate will get a mail regarding the first instalment along with caution money (for seat confirmation) which needs to be submitted to the accounts department within 15-20 days. The mode of payment can be Demand Draft/ NEFT/ RTGS.
If the candidate fails to submit the fees within the prescribed time period, the admission department will call to candidate to know for his interest or the reason for delay. Once all these procedures are done, the candidate will be given an option to select for his/her hostel rooms (first come first serve basis).
Due to the coronavirus crisis, a separate WhatsApp group has been created in which members of the placement cell along with the admission department are available for the selected candidates in case any doubt arises in their mind. Members of the placement cell provide all the basic information required by the candidate related to course curriculum, hostel, mess and general concern.
Note: All those students who are shortlisted for further rounds have been informed about the online process beforehand through official mail from college authority so that candidates can plan accordingly.
