How has Coronavirus reshaped education in India
"Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit.” -Napoleon Hill.
In these unprecedented times of the COVID-19 pandemic taking over the world, the citizens of this world are evolving. There is a greater sensitivity to well-being, self-care, impact of human action on the nature of Planet Earth; however, above all, the human race is once again learning the art of adaptation. How can we sustain our regular lives by adapting and improvising?
One noteworthy adaption that has seen a significant rise is in the education industry in India. There has been an overnight shift to digital learning and collaboration which is remarkable given the conventional methods of learning, teaching and functioning. One pioneering institute leading in the digital shift is The Lexicon Group’s Management Institute of Leadership and Excellence.
LEXICON MILE - Management Institute For Leadership And Excellence has taken various steps, which have allowed it to continue its academic system smoothly even during the Lockdown phase of India’s battle against COVID-19. The entire process of teaching and learning has been transferred to online platforms such as the Zoom Class Mode. With special emphasis on the Strategic Management and Rural Marketing modules, the professors are conducting online classes regularly. In the meantime, an ERP is also being designed for better class delivery as well as for the arrangement of online examinations.
This period is usually one of the admissions and all admission related activities, such as interviews and group discussions. To avoid any delay in the process of student admissions to Lexicon MILE, interviews of selected candidates are now being conducted by the senior faculty members of software such as Skype, Whatsapp, Zoom. Keeping the safety and well-being of all potential candidates as well as the faculty of Lexicon MILE, in-person interviews have been cancelled.
Overall, this COVID-19 outbreak has shown us how we can collaborate and communicate effectively even when we are unable to interact in person and be present in the same space. Companies, academic institutes, and various business have gone digital to continue their daily processes and stay updated with the happenings of the world.
In addition to the updating of the format of work and labour, people have gained a greater sense of introspection, and have begun to value time with their families and loved ones. In a rare occurrence, the entire family has come together to share stories and make memories to working together and existing peacefully. There is an even higher emphasis on taking care of one’s physical and mental health. People have begun to eat better, work out at home, and meditate to stay calm and breathe well. This has all been possible as Mother Nature has received its time to restart and refresh. Rivers have cleaned themselves, nature is thriving again, and the animals and birds have come back to their space on the planet. Pollution levels have significantly dropped, aiding in better air and a cleaner environment for us all to live in.
This is the joy of adaptability; the one who sees the positive to seize the day, will be the one to rule the day!
