Mystory@MRavali

I chose PCM in my 11thand 12th as I always had a keen interest in Mathematics, and wanted to opt for Engineering. Today, I feel that I made the right career decision and I can see myself capable enough of fulfilling all my goals. Once I complete my engineering course, I was interested in learning finance and marketing as I knew this will help me a lot in achieving my goals. I chose SSIM B-school because it is a well-known college in Telangana , and has the best faculty and infrastructure. Also, it is known for providing great placement opportunities and additional benefits like internship that provides industry experience practically. SSIM also conducts Book Review Sessions, Company Review Sessions and Article Review Sessions that help students in reducing stage fear and assists in improving the communication skills. The main advantage we are getting from this college is that we can opt for PGDM triple specialisation program in which we can gain knowledge about three different streams. Even my sister is an alumnus of SSIM and she was placed in WIPRO, one of the top MNCs, and she suggested me that this college is the best if one is willing to learn management skills. All these factors made me choose SSIM for doing my Post-Graduation course MBA.

How I cracked college admission

I cracked ATMA exam with 90% and got enrolled in Siva Shivani Institute of Management and at present I am pursuing PGDM-MBA course. I got a scholarship of Rs 60,000. I appeared for other entrance exams like CAT and MAT too. I got the admission letter from Siva Shivani Institute of Management after getting my MAT score. I got good score in MAT exam but my percentile was not good enough to meet the scholarship criteria in SSIM. This time, with adequate preparation, I attempted ATMA exam and secured 90%. After getting my ATMA result, I contacted SSIM and one of the faculty members interviewed me telephonically. They tested my communication skills and many other aspects and granted admission in SSIM.  I did not attend any coaching classes for cracking management entrance exams. I attempted CAT, MAT and ATMA with self-preparation. I solved many aptitude books and previous years’ question papers which helped me in solving problems in minimal time and accuracy in the entrance exams.  I got admission letters from many best colleges all over India, but in my view SSIM is the best business school, and I chose SSIM B-school to pursue MBA.

What I gained from my college years

I feel my college is a temple of learning. My college provides a platform to learn the subjects practically and we gain most of the knowledge on the subjects in the classes itself. In this manner, we can concentrate on the co-curricular activities also side by side. Our college also informs about the competitions and seminars that are conducted in other colleges and encourages us to participate in the events. Our college conducts numerous formal and informal programs and involves students in managing events. This encourages us to give ideas for conducting events and in return, enhances our creativity and innovativeness. I participated in National Finance Conference on stock market indices conducted in my college which helped me gain knowledge on stock markets and their fluctuations. “SAMANVY” was an intra college fest held in our college and it is the major event in SSIM where the students from various colleges participate in the event. I was the main coordinator of an informal event named “CINE MADZ”. I enjoyed a lot while organizing the event. I interacted with many students which helped me improve my network channel and communication skills. I learnt time management, how one needs to coordinate with others, gained knowledge about films and much more. I use to make preparations for all such events in my free time and at the same time, managed my academic studies as well. We have communications as a subject in every semester which teaches us interview, presentation and communication skills. Manage your time wisely as time is very precious. Maintain a timetable and accomplish the assigned tasks accordingly.
