It was 2009 when I completed my 10th standard. Those were tough days for me being faced with the task of selecting my course of study for the next 2 years which eventually helps to choose the kind of life I wanted to lead. As I was interested in all subjects it became very tough to select my subjects. But as I wanted to do engineering, I opted for Math, Physics and Chemistry combination. Then I joined Chemical Engineering and loved every moment of it.

As I am interested in learning new things and want to learn how an organization works I decided to study management. We have many colleges in the country and I found that Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE) has great experience in providing cutting edge research, education and consultancy services. As I decided to stay and study for two years in Hyderabad, IPE felt like the better choice for me.

How I cracked college admission

If you want to join MBA you need to crack different entrance tests. As Institute of Public Enterprise accepts scores of all entrance tests, I decided to write XAT and MAT. It is tough to get good score in XAT as it is one of the toughest exams. So, I decided to enroll myself with TIME, which is a premium coaching center for entrance tests. I have not attended many classes at TIME but I read the books provided by TIME which helped me get a good XAT score. Then I applied for Institute of Public Enterprise, where I had to go through a GD session and personal interview as part of the admission process and I successfully made it to this college.

My college experience

College campus is not so massive, it’s reasonably big and more importantly extremely delightful. Lush green lawns and first class sporting facilities and cozy sitting areas makes one want to come to college every day. As I love reading books I walk to the library daily. It has a good collection of books but less in number which sometimes irks me. Some of the faculty is excellent in teaching and it feels sad when you miss to attend their classes. As I said that I want to make my career in Marketing Research so any class related to marketing pulls me. The other subject which I am interested in is Operations and we have an excellent professor for it.

We have different clubs in the campus and I am part of two clubs. We have a fest named ‘Sanskrithi’ and a startup platform named ‘Startupedia’ and I am part of the organising team for these two events. As campus provides good sports facilities and I am very interested in sports, I play cricket, badminton, volleyball and table tennis regularly. I have met different sorts of people here like freaks, geeks, nerds, wannabes, beautiful girls and of course ‘saadhaaran ‘people which are not difficult to find even elsewhere. And I am learning new things from all sort of people. There are students, who have work experience and I always love to be with them and learn from them. The whole experience of college made me focus more on what I want to do in life.
