SRCC to introduce MBA programme similar to IIMs

Sri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), Delhi University (DU) is all set to introduce MBA programme which is said to be similar to the programmes offered by the Indian Institute of Management.
The two-year full time postgraduate degree programme is pending green signal from Delhi University. It will replace the two-year Global Business Operations diploma programme, which is currently being offered by the college. The new four semester programme will offer 18 additional courses.
"The new course will replace the existing two-year postgraduate Global Business Operations (GBO) diploma programme," RP Rustagi, officiating principal of SRCC was quoted as saying by a leading daily.
"We are waiting for the MBA programme to be approved by the university," he added. The college doesn’t need UGC approval as the course will be funded by Delhi University itself.
The curriculum of the new programme will however, be different from GBO. It is designed on the lines of IIM curriculum and is expected to offer the same subjects and electives as the IIMs.
SRCC offer five programmes; out of which only GBO is a diploma programme. The plan to upgrade GBO to a postgraduate degree programme has been taken so that the students have the advantage of getting a PG degree instead of a diploma.
The first batch is likely to have 65 participants. Admission process of GBO diploma for 2017-2019 was already conducted in January.

Candidates are selected for admission in the BCom (Hons) course at Shri Ram College of Commerce based on the scores of the CUET-UG exam. Candidates must appear for this exam and achieve a valid aggregate in the same to take admission in SRCC.
