The Mumbai campus of Welingkar Institute of Management, catering to a variety of talented minds across India offers eight PGDM programs (apart from the MMS course). Of these eight, the top five courses (in no specific order) are as follows:     

1. PGDM (or PGDM Core) 

It is a flagship program, which is generic in nature and is designed to equip students with a thorough understanding of the different business processes across sectors. 

Specialisations: One can choose to specialise in Marketing, Finance, HR, and Operations as per his/her interests and aspirations. 

Seat Intake: The total no. of seats for this course is 180. 

Eligibility: To be eligible to apply for PGDM Core, one needs to have at least 50% marks in graduation, followed by a score of above 80 percentile in CAT or XAT and 85 percentile in CMAT or ATMA

Selection criteria: For admission to this course, 40% weightage is given to the MBA entrance exam scores and Personal Interview each, 15% is allotted to the past academic scores and 5% to the extra-curricular activities.    

Course Curriculum Brief: The syllabus is designed to be at par with the top International and Indian B-schools and in accord with the latest industry trends. Access to HR and Finance labs is given to the students to implement theoretical learnings in real-life scenarios. Regular training of mock GD-PI, Excel and Aptitude tests along with focused mentoring is provided to students to secure a dream job profile. 

Career Scope: Upon successful completion of the course, one can work in various lucrative fields such as risk advisory, HR analytics, brand management, digital marketing, business analysis, etc.  

2. PGDM in e-Business (e-biz)

It is one of the best courses and is more technology-driven. It is designed with an aim to hone the students with advanced digital knowledge about the current and future needs of e-commerce and Information Technology. 

Specialisations: A student can select to specialise in any one among Marketing, Finance, HR and Operations in the second year. 

Seat Intake: The total seat intake of this course is 120. 

Eligibility: One needs to have at least 50% marks in graduation, followed by a score of above 80 percentile in CAT or XAT.

Selection criteria: The selection process for this course is - 40% weightage is given to the MBA entrance exam scores and Personal Interview each, 15% is allotted to the past academic scores and 5% to the extra-curricular activities.    

Course Curriculum Brief: The syllabus focuses on both traditional business concepts and technological needs. Concepts such as IT security, cognitive business, digital marketing, etc. that have a tech-angle associated with it are covered in greater depth here.   

Career Scope: One can work in various reputed domains such as consulting, e-commerce, IT, digital media, analytics, etc.  

3. PGDM in Research and Business Analytics (RBA)

This course is for those who are passionate about the world of data and analytics. The course is a perfect blend of traditional business domain and analytics.  

Seat Intake: The total seat intake of this course is 120. 

Eligibility: It’s mandatory to have at least 50% marks in graduation, followed by a score of above 80 percentile in CAT or XAT or 85 percentile in CMAT or ATMA. 

Selection criteria: The selection process for this course is - 40% weightage is given to the MBA entrance exam scores and Personal Interview each, 15% is allotted to the past academic scores and 5% to the extra-curricular activities.    

Curriculum Brief: The syllabus includes extensive usage of programming languages and tools such as Python, R, Tableau, IBM-SPSS, etc. 

Career Scope: One can get to work a data scientist, business consultant, data analyst, etc.   

PGDM in Retail Management  

This course features a unique blend of both general and retail management, with regular retail immersions undertaken to study the local retail environment better.    

Seat Intake: The total seat intake of this course is only 60. 

Specialisations: One can select among Marketing, Finance, HR, and Operations in the second year as specialisation

Eligibility: To be eligible to apply for this course, one needs to have at least 50% marks in graduation, followed by a score of above 80 percentile in CAT or XAT and 85 percentile in CMAT or ATMA. 

Selection criteria: The selection process for this course is - 40% weightage is given to the MBA entrance exam scores and Personal Interview each, 15% is allotted to the past academic scores and 5% to the extra-curricular activities.    

Curriculum Brief: The syllabus includes numerous live retail industry projects, workshops, roundtables and an on-campus Retail Club named “Weyapaar”.  

Career Scope: One works in fields such as visual merchandising, supply chain management, store operations, FMCG, etc. 

5. PGDM Business Design  

It aims to develop a customer-centric approach and mindset, with the understanding of how to innovatively formulate as well as execute a robust, sustainable and lucrative business process. 

Seat Intake: The total no. of seats for this course is just 60. 

Eligibility: To be eligible to apply, one needs to have at least 50% marks in graduation, followed by a score of above 80 percentile in CAT or XAT and 85 percentile in CMAT or ATMA. 

Selection criteria: The selection process for this course is - 40% weightage is given to the MBA entrance exam scores and Personal Interview each, 15% is allotted to the past academic scores and 5% to the extra-curricular activities.    

Curriculum Brief: The course offers a blend of innovation and management inputs; incorporating the concept of “design thinking” in solving business problems.   

Career Scope: One can work in sectors such as entrepreneurship, consulting, finance, design firms,SMEs, etc.  

Fee Structure

The tuition fee for any two years PGDM courseise INR 13 Lakh along with a library deposit of INR 4,000, which is refundable post the course completion.

CAT is not compulsory for admission to MBA. Welingkar Mumbai also considers scores in MAT, CMAT, ATMA, etc. Aspirants with scores in any of the accepted entrance tests can get admission.
