Q: Β  What is the difference between TANCET results and TANCET scorecard?
A:

TANCET results will host the actual score of the candidate so that he/she can analyse the individual performance. Whereas, TANCET scorecard will not have actual score. With percentile score in the TANCET scorecard, candidates will be able to display his/her relative performance. This would help in evaluating performance of the candidate in comparison to the other test takers.

Typically, Anna University releases the TANCET scorecard a week after the declaration of the TANCET results. Candidates need to download the TANCET scorecard to participate in the further admission processes; however, TANCET results need not be saved for future references.

Q: Β  What factors are taken into consideration for the normalization of marks in TANCET?
A:
The normalisation of marks is done based on the standard deviation, mean marks and raw score. However, TANCET score for MBA and MCA courses are not normalised as the questions in TANCET exam remains the same for all the candidates. Additionally, the MBA and MCA exam are conducted in single shifts. Scores for the Engineering exam, CEETA PG, will be normalised using a predefined formulae. Although CEETA PG is also conducted in single shift, the question variation in the stream specific section can lead to change of the difficulty standards in the exam.
