Anna University conducts TANCET exam every year for admission to MBA and MCA courses across Tamil Nadu. More than 250 colleges will accept TANCET 2026 scores for admission. TANCET 2026: Anna University has released TANCET exam date 2026. TANCET 2026 exam date for MBA and MCA courses is set as May 9. Candidates aspiring for admissions via TANCET 2026 must fill the online application form as per the schedule. Anna University will facilitate TANCET 2026 registration link from March 16 to April 10, on the official website, tancet.annauniv.edu. Candidates aspiring for MBA/MCA admissions in Tamil Nadu will be allowed to fill TANCET application form. TANCET exam is accepted by more than 250 colleges for state level admissions in Tamil Nadu. 

Candidates with a UG degree are eligible for TANCET 2026 exam. As per the TANCET exam pattern 2026, candidates have to answer 100 MCQs within 120 minutes. These 100 questions will be based out of five sections for MBA, and four sections for MCA exam. Candidates need to fill the TANCET application form if they are eligible for the exam. DTE, Tamil Nadu, prescribes the TANCET eligibility criteria to appear for the state-level exam. The space below mentions the TANCET eligibility criteria 2026:

  • Candidates with a bachelor’s level degree or equivalent are eligible for TANCET 2026 exam.
  • Candidates holding a bachelor’s degree must have obtained a minimum aggregate of 50 per cent. Reserved category candidates have to secure a minimum aggregate of 45 per cent.
  • Those who are appearing for the final year exams of the bachelor’s degree course are also eligible to apply for the TANCET 2026 exam. However, such candidates will have to meet the academic eligibility requirements during the TN MBA admissions 2026.

Q:   What are the passing marks for TANCET exam?

There is no passing mark for TANCET exam. Anna University does not mention the qualifying status for the candidates in the results. All test takers for the TANCET exam find their actual marks and percentile score mentioned on their exam mark sheet. However, only the candidates who meet the cutoff scores set by participating colleges pass the TANCET exam. TANCET cutoff marks vary every year depending upon multiple factors.

Q:   What is the eligibility criteria for admission into TANCET colleges?

Candidates aspiring for MBA Admission based on TANCET exam must have a Bachelor's degree with a 50 per cent aggregate score. In case the candidates belong to reserved category, they have a concession of five per cent in aggregate score requirement, I. e. reserved categories need 45 per cent aggregate in the qualifying exam. On the other hand, TANCET colleges offering MCA admission requires the candidates to hold any of the following Bachelors degree: - BCA - B.Sc. Information Technology - B.Sc. Computer Science Engineering Candidates who do not have any of the above mentioned degrees must have studied Mathematics as a major subject in Graduation or at 10+2 exam level.

TANCET 2026 Results

Anna University will release the TANCET result within a month of the exam date. The TANCET result is compiled in the form of a scorecard. Initially, Anna University releases the results with the actual marks and percentile score. Soon after the result is declared, candidates are allowed to reach authorities for any discrepancy. The TANCET scorecard is released 4-5 days after the result is declared. Candidates are allowed to check the TANCET 2026 results and scorecard from the official website, tancet.annauniv.edu.
