Projects at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida
Projects are of a larger scale requiring a deeper understanding and knowledge of the subject matter. There is normally one project given per student considering the analysis it requires to get to the outcome. Students need to cover various aspects of that assignment. One can get guidance and any other sort of help from the faculty at any point.
A report, a word document is submitted before the deadline to the faculty in the form of soft copies. There is a certain limit to plagiarism that must be taken care of.
One of the major project reports of the whole PGDM course is the SIP Report. The SIP report is the Summer Internship Project report made after completing the internship. A student needs to cover all the aspects of his/ her learning in that full-fledged report. Students usually set an objective in the initial days of the internship as per the work they do. Their aim is set to achieve that objective by the end of it. It is up to the student, what goal he/ she sets depending upon the type of profile and responsibility he/ she has been assigned.
After that, one hard copy along with a soft one should be submitted before the SIP mentor assigned to the student. That report also contains an internship completion certificate as proof duly signed by the internship manager/mentor.
Vivas are also taken on that report that includes a presentation. So, the student must be thorough with what he/ she mentions in that report.
Quizzes
Quizzes are also a part and parcel of the internal marking. These are the MCQ-based questions that carry 10 to 20 per cent of the total marks. The quizzes are conducted online at the college’s student login portal called ‘Moodle’. The syllabus is what is taught in the classes and is not something in-depth that one needs to go through.
These quizzes are time-sensitive, which means that they start and close for everyone at the same time. There is also a timer that keeps running side by side. One needs to finish the quiz in due time to avoid automatic submission with incomplete responses.
Class Participation & Presentations
Apart from all the quizzes and assignments, the student must actively participate in the class as well. This includes being interactive, contributing to the discussions & debates and putting forth opinions as well.
Presentations also take place as a part of the course curriculum. The aim is to build the confidence of the student and improvise his people’s skills.
Plagiarism Check
As all the assignments, projects and reports have certain plagiarism limits that should not be crossed, here is something on how to deal with it. Starting with the platform for checking the plagiarism percentage, the college has its tool for that. Once the assignment is submitted at the link, it shows the plagiarism percentage after a few minutes. One can check the portion which is plagiarised and change that accordingly. Once changed, the assignment can be resubmitted. The limit is shown for the freshly submitted assignment too.
This applies to the exams as well. There is a plagiarism limit set when exams are conducted online that only applies to the COVID-19 scenarios, otherwise Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida conducts offline exams only.
