Candidates seeking admission to the two-year PGP of IIM Ahmedabad must appear in the Common Admission Test (CAT). CAT 2025 (considered for admission to the 2026-28 batch) will take place in November 2025. Candidates who are interested in seeking admission to the 2026-28 batch were able to apply online and register themselves on the official website of CAT after the CAT registration process is open.

In general, while registering for CAT, candidates must apply for PGP of IIM Ahmedabad by selecting the option available in the online registration form. The application fee for CAT (General/OBC category) is INR 2,400. There is no additional cost included to apply for IIM Ahmedabad.

The IIM Ahmedabad PGP (MBA) placement process is conducted in clusters. The first stage is the lateral placement process, where companies interview students with work experience and offer them mid-level managerial positions. In the second stage, the PGP final placement process is conducted where companies were grouped into cohorts (domains such as Consulting, Finance, etc.) based on the profiles offered, and these cohort groups were invited to campus across three clusters for final placements.

IIM Ahmedabad MBA programme is offered for 2 year in PG level on the basis of entrance exam. The Institute offers it at the tuition fees worth INR 12 Lacs to INR 25 Lacs with an annual intake of 50 students. Candidates must secure a minimum aggregate of 50% in graduation and secure valid scores in CAT or GATE. The Institute is also ranked 1 by NIRF 2024 under the Management category, sufficient to prove its standing among other IIMs or institutes offering Management.

There is a good chance of receiving an interview call from IIM Ahmedabad, however, admission isn’t guaranteed even at 100 percentile. Students must clear the sectional and the minimum final cut-off to be eligible and considered for the call. After that, they must get shortlisted for the interviews and group discussion process. After all these rounds, a final list of shortlisted candidates is prepared.

 IIMA is a public Business School located in Vastrapur, Ahmedabad with the status of an 'Institute of National Importance' by MHRD, Government of India.
