How to Check ICAI CA Final Result 2026?
Candidates will be able to check their CA Final result 2026 and download the scorecard from the official website. Given below is the process to download CA Final result.
- Visit the official ICAI website or click here: icai.nic.in/caresult
- Click on the links indicating CA Final result/merit list (January 2026)
- Enter your ICAI roll number and registration number
- Enter CAPTCHA code as displayed
- Click on 'submit' and check your CA result
The CA Final merit list September 2026 will also be available for download through the same process. The CA Final merit list will contain names and scores of CA Final toppers of January 2026 session.
Students must note that the CA Final exam result is not sent by post or email. The scorecard is available in online mode and through login only.

The passing marks for CA Final is minimum of 40 per cent aggregate in each individual subject and 50 per cent aggregate of all the subjects at one sitting in either both the groups or a single group. Candidates who do not score the minimum percentage, have to take the exam again in the next cycle.
Students can make as many attempts as they can because, to complete the Chartered Accountancy course, one needs to clear all the course levels with passing marks. The CA course is of a very high difficulty level and even the toppers manage to score not more than 70-75 per cent. A large number of students cannot clear a course level in one go. The pass percentage hovers around 25 to 30 percent.
The CA Intermediate and Final exam results are announced on the same day and CA Foundation result is announced on a separate date. The CA Foundation exam results are announced a few days after the announcement of CA Intermediate and CA Final results for a particular session. For example, the CA Inter and CA Final results of May 2023 were released in July and CA Foundation result of the same session was announced in August 2023. Usually, an individual takes about 3 to 5 attempts to clear the CA Final exam. The course level is too difficult to crack in the first attempt. No, there is no difference in the difficulty level of the sessions of CA Final exam. The CA Final question papers are set on the basis of the course syllabus, and given that the chapters are too vast, the exam papers are tough, irrespective of the exam session.
CA Final exam had been conducted twice in a year. From 2025 onwards the CA Final exam will be held in September as well. Thus, going forward, there will be three CA Final sessions in a year - January, May and September.
Eligibility criteria for the session depends on candidate's current stage in the CA course. Candidates can repeat the papers in the next session only if he/she meets the criteria. Registration for CA Final May exams start in March and for CA Final September exams, it starts in August. The window to register for CA Final January exam will open in November.

If a candidate is unable to clear the CA Final course exam in the first attempt, they can reappear. The initial registration for Final Course is valid for five years, which means each candidate gets 10 attempts. After five years, they can register again for the next five years. The certificate to practice Chartered Accountancy as a profession is given to any student by the ICAI only after they clear the final level. Irrespective of the number of attempts they have made to clear it. Until they clear the CA Final level and get the certificate, they cannot practice as a professional.

Yes, the candidates can apply for scorecard verification after the result announcement. The facility is available for all three course levels. The window for rechecking of a particular CA course opens a day after announcement of the result. Candidates can apply for scorecard verification within a month of result announcement along with a demand draft of INR 200 in favour of the Secretary, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, payable at New Delhi. The fee is non-refundable and the result of rechecking will be final. Students can’t apply for rechecking more than once.
The CA result, scorecard or merit list can be accessed online only. Apart from direct download via login, there is a provision to obtain CA result via email. The provision of obtaining results via email was introduced in 2022. To get result via email, candidates have to submit a request on the ICAI website as per the schedule announced by the exam authorities.
These processes have been put in place for the convenience of candidates as a soft copy of the scorecard is saved in the student dashboard and they can download it as soon as it is announced or whenever they need. Online announcement of result is quick and safe.
