Amid rising COVID19 cases in the state, the Maharashtra Education Department is considering promoting all students of Class 9 and Class 11 to the next academic class without holding any annual examinations or on the basis of internal assessment. According to noted media reports, the Maharashtra board is also mulling over the postponement of the upcoming Maharashtra HSC, SSC board exams 2021. The exams will likely be postponed if the COVID cases in the state keep increasing rapidly.
Earlier, state School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad had announced that Maharashtra Board students from classes 1 to 8 will be promoted without exams.
The COVID19 cases in Maharashtra have hit a record daily high since the outbreak of the pandemic prompting the state government to impose night curfew and other preventive and precautionary measures to control the situation.
