IISER Kolkata Admissions 2021 begin for Integrated PhD programme; Apply by May 14
Applicants interested in IISER Kolkata Admission 2021 must note that the programme comprises two years of Masters-level coursework followed by four years of dedicated research towards PhD.
IISER Kolkata Admission 2021: Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Kolkata, Mohanpur-741 246, commenced the application process for admission to the Integrated PhD programme in Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Earth Sciences and Physical Sciences, for the academic year 2021-22 commencing July-2021. Applicants interested in IISER Kolkata Admission 2021 must note that the programme comprises two years of Masters-level coursework followed by four years of dedicated research towards PhD. There is no provision of exiting the program with a Master’s degree.
Candidates can submit online applications at https://apply.iiserkol.ac.in/iphd/. The last day to submit the IISER Kolkata application is May 14, 2021. The last date will be one week after the JEST exam results are announced (for Physical Sciences only). Applicants have to fill separate applications in case s/he is applying to multiple departments. Fellowship of Rs 10,000/- per month will be given in the first two years if a student commits to be in the programme till the completion of PhD degree.
Applicant are advised to go through the eligibility criteria before applying. Candidates applying for the programme must have a BSc/BE/BTech/MBBS or an equivalent degree with a minimum of 60% marks/equivalent grades in Honours/Major (if applicable), or 60% /equivalent grades in Aggregate (if Honours/Major is not applicable). Those applying for the final examination of their degree course can also apply. Students whose final exam remained incomplete due to the pandemic may also apply.
Applicant must note that they have qualified in one of the following nationwide aptitude tests in the year 2021: (i) For Biological Sciences: JAM (Biotechnology) / JGEEBILS (ii) For Chemical Sciences: JAM (Chemistry) (iii) For Earth Sciences: (a) JAM (Geology) or (b) JAM Chemistry for research in Environmental Science or (c) JAM Physics for research in Computational Mineralogy (iv) For Physical Sciences: JAM (Physics)/JEST (Physics).
