hi,

There is no fixed “minimum score” in JEE Advanced for admission into IIT Bombay because selection is based on AIR (All India Rank), not marks.

For B.Tech Aerospace Engineering:

  • SC category closing rank is usually around 300–800 (approx.)

  • This often corresponds roughly to about 80–140 marks out of 360, but this changes every year depending on paper difficulty and competition.

So instead of targeting a fixed score, you should aim for a very strong SC rank under ~500 for safer admission chances.

For IIT Bombay, there is no fixed “minimum score” for OBC-NCL students. Admission depends on your rank in JEE Advanced, not just marks. For a branch like Aerospace Engineering, you should aim for an OBC rank roughly within ~800–1,500 for a realistic chance. In terms of marks, this may correspond to around 140–200 out of 360, but it varies every year with exam difficulty. Focus on achieving the best possible rank rather than targeting a specific score.

hi,

For international students, the fee structure at IIT Bombay (including B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering) is higher than Indian students and depends on the specific category (SAARC / non-SAARC / exchange programs). Generally, tuition fees can range from about USD 6,000–8,000 per year (₹5–7 lakh approx.), plus hostel, mess, and other charges (~₹1–1.5 lakh/year). IITs follow a structured fee policy, and some scholarships or fee waivers may be available depending on agreements and merit. For Indian students, tuition is around ₹2 lakh/year, but international fees are significantly higher.

hi,

There is no fixed “minimum score” for admission to IIT Bombay. Selection for B.Tech Aerospace Engineering is based on your rank in JEE Advanced, not just marks. Typically, you need a General rank within ~1,500–3,000, which often corresponds roughly to ~160–220 marks out of 360, but this varies each year depending on exam difficulty. For reserved categories (OBC/SC/ST), the required rank and marks are lower. So, focusing on achieving a strong rank is more important than targeting a specific score.

To pursue B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering from IIT Bombay, you need to follow a clear path. First, complete Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and secure at least 75% (or meet category criteria). Then appear for JEE Main and qualify among the top candidates to be eligible for JEE Advanced. Next, clear JEE Advanced with a strong rank (around 1,000–3,000 for Aerospace). Finally, participate in JoSAA counselling and choose IIT Bombay. Consistent preparation in physics and maths is key.

hi,

The cut-off for B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering at IIT Bombay is based on your rank in JEE Advanced and varies each year. For the General category, the closing rank is typically around 1,500–3,000. For OBC, it may be around 800–1,500, for SC roughly 300–800, and for ST around 150–400. These ranges can shift depending on exam difficulty and seat availability. Admission is strictly merit-based through JoSAA counselling, and securing a rank better than the closing rank increases your chances.

hi,

No—there is no management quota for admission into the Department of Aerospace Engineering at IIT Bombay. All seats in the Indian Institutes of Technology are filled strictly through a transparent, merit-based process via JEE Advanced. There are only government-approved reservation categories (like SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwD), but no donation, capitation fee, or direct entry route exists. If anyone claims otherwise, it's misleading.
