B.Tech CSE (Computer Science Engineering) is a broader field that covers both software and hardware, while B.Tech ISE (Information Science Engineering) is more software-focused and applied, concentrating on the application of computing principles to solve information-related problems. While CSE has a wider scope, both are very similar, and many core subjects are shared, leading to similar career and placement opportunities in most cases. The main difference lies in CSE's inclusion of hardware subjects like computer architecture, whereas ISE focuses exclusively on software and information systems.
