IIT Bombay Placements 2020: 310 Companies participated in Phase 1
Data released by IIT Bombay suggest that the technology institute received a total of 973 offers (152 pre-placement offers, 821 in campus placement).
IIT Bombay Placement 2020: Indian Institute of Technology, (IIT) Bombay concluded its Phase I Placement session on December 15, 2020. According to the official reports, IIT Bombay recorded the highest recruiters this year. In Phase I of IIT Bombay Placement 2020, 310 973 selections were made by 310 companies in the Institute. Data released by IIT Bombay suggest that the technology institute received a total of 973 offers (152 pre-placement offers, 821 in campus placement). TheΒ Engineering & Technology sector rolled out theΒ highest number of offers by ascertaining the technical proficiency of IIT Bombay students.
Apart from this, variousΒ countries such as the USA, Japan, UAE, Singapore, Netherlands, Hong Kong, and Taiwan releasedΒ a total of 58 international offers. The highest domestic CTC package offered during IIT Bombay Placements 2020 is Rs 64 lacs per annum and the highest international CTC is EURO 1.57 lacs per annum. This year two PSUs also offered 5 jobs in Phase I placement sessions to IIT B students.
However, it is expected that the Placement Office of the Institute will receive more offers in the coming days. The statement issued by the placement office reads, βPlacement Office has endeavored to minimize the impact of COVID - 19 pandemic on student recruitment process and has optimized selection outcomes. Comparison with previous years would not be fair, considering the economic, travel, and logistical challenges faced during this pandemic year.β
Despite the economic slow down due to the ongoing pandemic situation, Phase 1 placement ended with 30 candidates of IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur, and IIT Delhi getting more than 1 crore pay packages. The top recruiters include Samsung, Sony, Microsoft among others.
