IIT Bombay is all set to conduct the UCEED Entrance exam for B.Des programmes. The exam is just around the corner and the level of stress is high among the students. Read on why the stress level is high this week and what should be done.
UCEED Exam is just in one week. More than 15000 candidates apply for the exam and there are only around 245 seats in the B.Des programme. So 60 students are competing for 1 seat at IITs for this programme. The competition is high, and so is the stress amongst the students.
Students may feel anxious during this week. Some may feel pressured to complete everything. There is mental fatigue, self-doubt, and restlessness. All these emotions are normal as long as they are managed properly.
How to manage Stress During this week?
Some of how you can manage your stress during the UCEED Exam are given below.
- Don’t start any new topic - In the last few minutes leading up to the exam, you must focus on already-studied topics. Don’t start any new topic at random, because it will be time-consuming.
- Focus on Revision: Now whole time must be given to revise the topics which you have prepared. Give proper time for Part A and Part B. Sketch as much as you can to develop muscle memory.
- Solve sample papers: With a few days left before the exam, you must solve as many UCEED sample papers as possible. This will help you improve your problem-solving and time-management ability. Also, this exercise will help you fix minor errors and give you a lot of confidence going into the exam.
- Keep your composure during exam preparation: If you have high expectations, there is a great chance you will be under pressure to perform. In such cases, it is important to stop fretting over what may happen in the future. Instead, focus on the now, something that is under your control. Overthinking can also lead to stress and burnout, so don’t let your mind wander. If you feel like pressure is building inside you, leave your study desk, have some fun, listen to some calming music, and do something to get detached from the pressure.
- Eat healthy and sleep tight - One good way to release the pressure is to sleep tight and eat light and healthy food. If you have a good night’s sleep, it will simply reenergize you and you can again hit the ground running.
- Make an exam-day checklist - On the day of the UCEED exam, you will need to bring the admit card and a valid photo ID proof. You must download the admit card and keep a photo ID proof ready for exam day. By keeping the essentials ready, you will not be in any panic on exam day and will reach the UCEED exam center on time. Apart from this, read the instructions given on the admit card properly.
