GUJCET 2026 Countdown: Avoid These 5 Mistakes that can Cost Your GUJCET Rank

The exam body, GSEB announced GUJCET 2026 exam dates on November 8, 2025 leading to countdown to begin for engineering and pharmacy candidates. This means the clock has started ticking and aspirants must now focus and prepare well in advance.

During preparation, there are small mistakes which can cost them their rank. Today we will discuss the five mistakes to avoid.

Ignoring Class 11 Syllabus

A major chunk of the GUJCET syllabus is based on class 12 syllabus but it also have the questions from class 11. Although the weightage is higher for Class 12 topics, ignoring foundational concepts from Class 11 is not a smart move.

Poor time management

Time management is a key in not just GUJCET but any competitive exam. While attempting question papers, students often make mistakes in managing their time and end up losing a major chunk of their time to one particular question or section. To solve this, students must solve mock test papers regularly and increase their question-solving ability and efficiency.

Negative marking

GUJCET has a negative marking system and for every wrong attempt -0.25 will be deducted. Hence it is to be strategic while attempting the questions and avoid taking chances.

Not prioritizing high-weightage topics

Just like any other entrance exam, in GUJCET too not all chapters are equally important. Candidates must prioritize their study plan around topics with higher weightage.

Loosing up at last minute

In the last minute panics are bound to happen which can lead to stress and students might make mistakes. During the wee hours, students must not pick any new topic, refer to any new book or study material. The final weeks should be dedicated to revision, solving mock tests and reminiscing about what you have studied already. A good strategy can make all the difference on the exam day.
