IISc Bengaluru Launches Three New B.Tech Programs; Admission Through JEE Advanced
IISc Bengaluru has announced the launch of new BTech courses in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanics & Computing, and Materials Science Engineering this year. Admission to all three newly launched programs, including the one already running course in Mathematics and Computing, will be through JEE Advanced exam.
The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru has announced the launch of three new undergraduate programs in the engineering discipline from the 2026-27 academic session. The new courses launched are -
- BTech in Aerospace Engineering
- BTech in Mechanics and Computing
- BTech in Materials Science and Engineering

Candidates will be shortlisted based on their ranks in the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Advanced. Interested candidates have to qualify JEE Main as well as JEE Advanced 2026 for admission to BTech programs in IISc Bengaluru.
The institute is already running a BTech course in the Mathematics and Computing discipline.

Admission to all three newly launched programs and the one already running course will be done through JoSAA counselling. It is mandatory for the candidates to register, fill choices through the official JoSAA 2026 online portal for admission to BTech programs at IISc. No separate application is required to be submitted on the IISc admission portal for BTech admissions.
JEE Advanced 2026 exam is scheduled to be conducted on May 17, 2026. Only those candidates who qualify NTA JEE Mains exam can appear in IIT JEE Adv 2026. The first session of JEE Main 2026 is already over, conducted on January. The second attempt will be conducted from April 2 to 9, 2026.
