The third session of the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main 2021 began today, July 20, after constant postponement due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As per the reports from the students who have appeared for JEE Mains, the overall paper was moderate to easy. Read below for detailed exam analysis.

The third session of the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main 2021 began today, July 20, after constant postponement due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As per the reports from the students who have appeared for JEE Mains, the overall paper was moderate to easy. Read below for detailed exam analysis. 

JEE Main 2021 is being conducted in two shifts, i.e. 9 am to 12 pm and 3 pm to 6 pm. 

As per the students, the overall paper was moderate to easy and almost all topics were covered in every subject. They said the difficulty level of maths and chemistry was moderate, while the difficulty level of physics was easy. The students who had earlier appeared in the March session said the JEE Main July session was easier as compared to the March session.

 Chemistry was easier than previous session

According to a student who had appeared in the first shift, chemistry was easier as compared to the previous session. In maths, maximum questions were asked from chapters majorly from calculus, vector and matrices. Mainly, weightage was given to chapters of calculus and vector. In chemistry, the weightage given to organic and inorganic section was more. In physics, questions were from thermodynamics and mechanics, etc.

Maths section tough, physics, chemistry easy, says student

Aditya Chauhan, another student, said, physics and chemistry were easy, whereas maths was difficult. There were a total of 20 questions in maths, of which I attempted 15. Maximum questions were of binomial and vector.

Meanwhile, a JEE coaching expert said, “Maths and chemistry were of moderate level of difficulty while physics was easiest among all three subjects. Overall this paper was of moderate level as per students. Some students felt it was easier compared to March session.” 

The exam was earlier scheduled to be held in April, however, postponed due to the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. The exam dates were finalised following a meeting between the Education Ministry and the National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the engineering entrance exam every year.
