Steps to calculate JEE Main Score using the answer key
Students can easily calculate their scores using the JEE Main 2021 answer key. As per the JEE Main marking scheme, students can award themselves four marks for every correct answer and deduct one mark for every wrong one. There will be no negative marking in the numerical section.
Step-1: Download the JEE Main 2021 answer key and response sheet.
Step-2: Match answers marked in the response sheet with the answer key
Step-3: For every correct answer add four marks and for every wrong answer deduct one mark from the total score. Do not deduct any mark for wrong answers in the numerical section.
Numerical value questions in JEE Main are the questions for which the answer will be a numerical value. In every subject, there will be 5 numerical value type questions and students need to attempt all 5 questions. In total, students will need to answer only 75 questions. For numerical value type questions, the answer should be rounded off to the nearest integer.
It is advised that students should solve at least previous 10 year question papers of JEE Main. However, the exam pattern as well as difficulty level of JEE Mains has underwent a lot of changes during the last 10 years but still solving previous year JEE Main question papers from last 10 years will definitely help in scoring the good marks in the exam. As new type of questions (Questions with Numerical Value Answer) were intrduced recently, students are advised to practice solving these type of questions to help solve it during the actual exam.
Question paper during the exam will be visible in English, Hindi and the language selected by the candidate while filling the JEE Main application form. Candidates can switch the language of question paper between the default languages which is English Hindi and selected language in the application. In total, JEE Main is conducted in 13 languages and candidates have the option to select any language out of the available options. Candidates cannot switch the language of question paper between all 13 languages during the exam.
Step-4: After matching all the answers, the final total will be the probable JEE Main score.
Note: JEE Main score thus calculated may vary from the final score.
JEE uses the percentile score to prepare the merit list. As a matter of practice, the score is calculated up to 7 decimal places in order to avoid ties.

With a 300 SC category rank in CAT, your chances for NIT Trichy MBA are relatively high. Based on 2025 data, NIT Trichy generally shortlists SC candidates with CAT percentiles around 60-65. To achieve a 300 rank under SC category, you would need about a 65-70 percentile, or a score of roughly 60-65
