The institute commenced the session from August 17. This has been done as a special measure during the recent pandemic caused by COVID-19. As a precursor to this semester, a series of the webinar is being conducted in the institute for its MBA students since July 11 this year. Several eminent personalities from the industry and academia were also invited to share their experiences and interact with students via these webinars.

Some of the speakers who were invited to these webinars to share their insight and experiences are Dr Pramath Raj Sinha, Founding Dean ISB Hyderabad and Co-founder, Ashoka University; Raju Reddy, a distinguished alumnus of BITS Pilani, Founder, Sierra Atlantic in the Silicon Valley; and Sujit Panigrahi, BITS Pilani alumnus and Co-founder & CEO at Sequoia Fitness and Sports Technology.

In order to prepare the new batch of MBA students for their journey ahead, from July 27, the Department of Management also conducted online preparatory classes on different subjects even before the students formally joined the institute. Students welcomed the webinar sessions and preparatory classes and attended them with great zeal. With all arrangements and preparation, just like many other prominent educational institutes, BITS Pilani commenced its journey with the online mode of class sessions for all its students this semester. The educational institutes, universities, colleges as well as schools are closed in India since March 2020 due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus. According to the latest update, the state and central government are still not sure about the reopening date of the academic institutions. In order to compensate the academic loss, institutions are exploring different ways of imparting education such as online classes, open-book exams, online libraries, etc.
