All 133 students placed; average stipend at Rs 1.72 lakh with top 10% averaging Rs 3.62 lakh

BITS School of Management (BITSoM) has secured 100% summer internship placements for its fourth cohort (MBA Class of 2024-26), with all 133 participating students landing offers from 54 companies. The average stipend stood at Rs 1.72 lakh for the two-month internship period.

Despite a challenging macroeconomic environment, students were placed across diverse industries and domains, including consulting, finance, FMCG, e-commerce, IT, telecom, and emerging sectors such as sustainable energy and AI.

Top consulting firms such as McKinsey & Company, Accenture, EY, KPMG, and PwC were among the key recruiters. In the banking and financial services space, students received offers from JP Morgan Chase & Co, Bank of America, IDFC First Bank, ICICI Bank, NSE, SBI, and Union Mutual Fund, among others.

Leading conglomerates and FMCG/FMCD players such as Tata Sons, Aditya Birla Group, Colgate-Palmolive, Britannia, Cipla, L'OrΓ©al, and Pidilite also hired from BITSoM. The e-commerce and tech sector saw participation from Flipkart, BigBasket, IBM, and Vodafone Idea, while companies like Arka Energy and Cipher Oncology recruited for niche and sustainability-focused roles.

While the majority of students were placed through the campus process, 24 students secured internships independently. The average stipend saw a marginal dip of 1.7% from Rs 1.75 lakh last year.

The top 10% of the batch received an average stipend of Rs 3.62 lakh (up from Rs 3.42 lakh last year), the top 30% averaged Rs 3.10 lakh, and the top 50% received Rs 2.68 lakh.

The placement process also witnessed participation from 20 first-time recruiters, reflecting the school’s growing brand presence and its strategy to diversify the recruiter base amid sector-specific slowdowns.

β€œI am proud of the Class of 2026 for navigating a challenging economic landscape with resilience and purpose. The outcomes reflect not only the caliber of our students but also the dedicated efforts of our Industry Partnership and Career Services team,” said Dr Saravanan Kesavan, Dean and Professor of Operations at BITSoM. β€œI am particularly happy that several of our students are working on cutting-edge AI-related projects. We remain committed to being among the very best B-schools in the country.”
