IIM Bodh Gaya 1st IPM Batch: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bodh Gaya welcomed the first batch of its Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) via virtual mode on October 5. According to the information shared by the B-school, IIM Bodh Gaya enrolled a total of 72 students (51 male and 21 female) under its IPM programme. The virtual inauguration programme was attended by eminent personalities such as Subhas Sarkar, Minister of State for Education, Dr Vinita Sahay, Director, IIM Bodh Gaya and Dr Raveesh Krishnankutty, Chairperson, IPM.
Students after Class 12 are eligible to take admission to the five-year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM). Talking about the enrolment of students under IPM, the institute said, โUnlike the other IIMs, the IPM programme offered at IIM Bodh Gaya is open to students from varied domains, including liberal arts.โ
It further added that with this early induction to the programme, the institute aims to prepare students from a foundation level to take up leadership positions in corporate and government organizations.
IIM Bodh Gaya Admissions 2021 for IPM course were conducted through the Joint Integrated Programme in Management Admission Test (JIPMAT). The entrance test was conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). IIM Jammu also uses the entrance test for admission to their five-year IPM. During the inauguration programme, professor Sahay congratulated the students for qualifying the JIPMAT test.
While talking to Shiksha.com earlier, IIM Bodh Gaya Director Professor Vinita Sahay spoke about the success of JIPMAT. The professor said, โWhen we started IPM, we as a school decided that meritocracy must prevail. We must give equal opportunity to every promising student across the length and breadth of the country. That is the reason why we conducted JIPMAT as a joint admission test which was done by India's most trusted testing agency called NTA. Our whole philosophy was that every student across the length and breadth of the country should get an opportunity to do undergraduate in high-quality premium institution in business management that too at the least inconvenience and cost. So that is the reason we promoted NTA to conduct the test across the country.โ โWe also kept it affordable for every section of society to come and give the test. And we are extremely happy with the outcome because you know, why should a parent suffer by paying multiple fees across multiple campuses? Something as high as 4000 INR to 5000 INR for every test. No, it's not desirable. What is needed is that we give equal opportunity and we reduce the hassle for the student as well as a hassle for the parents and make it more accessible. That's the philosophy with which we are working and JIPMAT has been a huge success this year,โ the professor added.
IIM Bodh Gaya said, โThe IPM programme is intended to give students a global perspective towards management practices. It offers a holistic curriculum of experiential learning and international immersion. It also enables the students to demonstrate problem-solving skills supported by appropriate analytical techniques and to use ethical and socially conscious judgement while analysing business situations.โ
