In a surprising turn of events, a circulating WhatsApp message has revealed a plea from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow, seeking urgent job assistance for 72 candidates from the 2011 batch who are currently without employment. The prestigious institute, known for its stellar reputation and 100% placement record, has reached out to its alumni in a bid to address the concerning situation.
The WhatsApp message, confirmed by an alumnus from the 2011 batch currently residing in the USA, states: "Dear Batch of 2011, we are writing to address the current situation regarding unplaced students from our batch. Currently, 72 talented individuals are seeking employment opportunities. We are reaching out to our alumni of the 2011 Batch for assistance. Your support is crucial in maintaining the legacy of IIM Lucknow's 100% placement record."
The message emphasizes the importance of alumni leveraging their unique connections and networks to help place the 2024 batchmates. It reads: "If you are aware of any job opportunities or have connections within your professional network that align with the skill sets of our 2024 batchmates, please consider referring them or informing us about potential openings."
Shiksha reached out to one of the alumni from the 2011 batch in the USA who confirmed the authenticity of the WhatsApp message. Despite Shiksha's efforts to contact IIM Lucknow for clarification on the matter, no response has been received at the time of filing this report.
