Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sambalpur has successfully concluded its Management Immersion Programme (MIP), held from July 30 to August 2, 2024. This four-day residential program provided 62 students from IILM University with an immersive experience in management education and campus life at IIM Sambalpur. The programme was designed to offer unparalleled experiential learning through flipped classrooms, interactive sessions, workshops, and case studies led by IIM Sambalpurās esteemed faculty and industry experts.
Industrial Visits and Societal Outreach
The event featured a visit to Hindalco Industries, offering students insights into industrial operations and management practices. Additionally, as part of a societal outreach initiative, the students visited weaving industries in Attabira. This visit allowed them to engage with local weavers, understand their craft, and learn about IIM Sambalpurās efforts to support and promote the weaver community.
Inauguration Ceremony Highlights
- Welcome Address by Professor Mahadeo Jaiswal: Professor Jaiswal, Director of IIM Sambalpur, delivered a warm welcome, highlighting the institutionās core values of innovation, integrity, and inclusiveness. He emphasized IIM Sambalpur's commitment to blending tradition with modernity while upholding high ethical standards, inspired by the avatars of Lord Vishnu. āWe ensure everyone feels valued, fostering leaders who appreciate the importance of inclusivity in innovation and ethics,ā he stated.
- Chief Guest Speech by Debasish Mallik: Debasish Mallik, Joint President of Hindalco Industries Ltd., underscored the significance of bridging theoretical knowledge with real-world applications. He highlighted that effective leadership goes beyond task management, focusing on inspiration and empowerment. āAt Hindalco Hirakud, we promote an environment of learning, growth, and continuous improvement. Program Structure and Faculty
The MIP was organized into five transformative modules, each addressing key aspects of management and personal development. The modules were led by distinguished professionals, including Samarendra Mishra, Co-Founder of OVO Farm; Keshav Rao, Director Personnel at MCL; Dr K Ganesh, Partner Global Lead at McKinsey & Company; and Professor Bharat Bhushan, along with various faculty members from IIM Sambalpur.
