Aligned with the National Education Policy, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sambalpur recently organized the âNurturing Future Leadership Programmeâ (NFLP) as part of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme (MMTTP). This five-day residential initiative aimed to equip faculty members from various universities with essential technical, managerial, and interpersonal skills required for effective leadership roles within higher education institutions (HEIs).
Focus Areas of NFLP
NFLP focused on cultivating a deep understanding of effective leadership, identifying challenges in academic governance, and fostering strategic thinking to manage organizations. The programme also aimed to enhance cross-functional coordination, conflict resolution, and consensus-building skills crucial for academic and administrative excellence.
Inaugural Ceremony and Sessions
The inaugural ceremony commenced with a session on "Strategic Leadership for Academic Governance & 21st Century Learning" led by Professor Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director of IIM Sambalpur. Professor Jaiswal emphasized the strategic approach needed in Indian higher education to enhance quality, research, innovation, and global competitiveness.
