NEET 2023 Application Form Live Updates; Registration to Start Soon at NTA NEET Official Website

Candidates should follow the below instructions while uploading the signature in the NEET 2023 application form:

• The candidate should put his full signature in running handwriting [not in the capital letter] on white paper with a Black Ink pen and scan for uploading.
•  File size must be between 4 kb to 30 kb.
• The unsigned Online Application Forms will be rejected.
• In case someone else’s signature has been uploaded, the candidature shall be cancelled and the case will be considered as an Unfair Means Case. Criminal action as per the laws of the land shall also be initiated.

The following factors must be taken care of while uploading the photograph to the NEET 2023 application form:

• The photograph must be clicked on or after January 1, 2023.
• The photograph must be taken against a white background.
• At least 80 per cent of the face and ears should be clearly visible.
• Photographs should not be taken while wearing cap or goggles. Spectacles would be allowed only if worn regularly but the eyes should be clearly visible.
• Polaroid and Computer-generated photos are not acceptable.

The following documents are required for the NEET 2023 application process.

No, it is not mandatory to fill and submit the NEET 2023 application form in one go. They can complete and save one or more sections and then exit and come back later to continue filling the NEET 2023 application form. However, it must be ensured that the 'Save and Next' tab is clicked before leaving the website, otherwise applicants will have to start the process from scratch.

In order to fill the NEET 2023 application form, candidates will have to follow the steps given below:

• Enter the Application Number and Password
• Enter the mandatory details and click on 'Save & Next' before proceeding towards the next section of the form

NEET 2023 exam date is May 7. The exam will be conducted from 2 pm to 5.20 pm as per the Indian Standard Time (IST).

In general, the NEET application window lasts around 30 to 45 days. This is followed by an application correction window and admit card. Given the fact that there are around three months left for the exam and NTA official has stated that the NEET 2023 application form will be released by February end. Hence, it is unlikely that NEET 2023 application form release would be delayed by NTA.

NTA has not released any official notification stating the NEET 2023 application process dates. It is estimated that the NEET 2023 application form will be released by February 28 or March 1. 

The NEET 2023 exam will be conducted in 13 languages. Candidates will have to select any one of the languages in which they are most well-versed in. The questions will be printed on the language selected by candidates during the application process. There is an exception for candidates selecting Hindi as their preferred medium as the questions will be printed in both English and Hindi.

Candidates will have to enter the number and details of one of the valid photo identity cards such as Aadhaar Card, Voter ID Card, Passport, Driving License, etc. The  related details to be entered are as follows:

• Select one among the three options:
• I voluntarily agree to share my identity card number and I am aware that it will be used to establish my identity for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) 2023 examination by matching my personal identification details available in the official records.
• My information on the identity card is not the same as entered in the Application Form.
• I am not willing to share my Identity Card number.

Prior to saving the information, candidates will have to select the checkbox confirming the details entered in the page is correct and that they have understood the instructions.

The personal details which candidates will have to enter during the NEET 2023 application form are as follows:

• State/UT from where Class 12/equivalent exam has been passed
• Candidate category among General, Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC)
• If the candidate belongs to Person with Disability (PwD) category
• If the candidate is diabetic
• Place of residence
• Annual family income
• If belonging to minority community
• Country of residence
• If there is any intent to wear religious customary attire contrary to the NEET dress code
• Mode of preparation

As per the latest news and reports regarding NEET 2023, the application forms are likely to be released on or before March 1.

To help candidates remember the password, or to retrieve a forgotten password, candidates will be asked to select a Security Question while filling the NEET registration form. The list of security questions to select from are as follows:

• Which is your favourite book?
• Which is the website you rarely visit?
• What is the name of your first school?
• What is your neighbour's pet name?
• What is the registration number of your first vehicle

Candidates are advised to select the most convenient question, the answer to which they can remember by heart. 

NEET 2023 application process will have to be done by following the steps given below:

  Once the registration process is complete, NTA will send the NEET 2023 application number and password to the candidates' registered email IDs and mobile numbers. Applicants are advised to preserve the NEET credentials till the admission process is over.

While creating the password, candidates should keep in mind the following factors:

• The number of characters should be between 8 to 13
• There should be at least one special character
• There should be at least one uppercase character
• There should be at least one lowercase character

In order to successfully complete the NEET 2023 application process, candidates will have to complete the following steps:

NEET 2023 eligibility criteria are expected to be the same as last year. In 2022, the upper age limit criterion was removed, making it a more inclusive exam for medical aspirants. The eligibility criteria for NEET is given below.

• Candidates should secure a minimum aggregate of 50 per cent and 45 per cent (Reserved category candidates).

Before starting the application process, one must ensure that all cookies and cache are clear so that there is no glitch during the process. 

The information and documents to be kept handy are as follows:

• A valid mobile number

The NEET 2023 application fee is expected to remain the same as that of last year. The fee amount varies according to candidate category and the exam city. Candidates who would opt for a NEET 2023 exam centre abroad will have to pay a higher fee as compared to those who would be appearing in a centre located in India. NEET 2023 will be conducted on May 7. The exam date was officially announced by NTA on December 15, 2022, in the form of a common exam calendar. Along with NEET 2023, the exam dates for JEE Main, CUET UG and ICAR AIEEA were also announced.

NEET 2023 application process is likely to begin by February-end. Official notification is awaited.

As per the NEET 2023 eligibility criteria, candidates should complete 17 years of age at the time of admission or will complete that age on or before 31 December of the year of his/her admission to the first year of the Undergraduate Medical Course. Accordingly, candidates should be born on or before December 31, 2006.

NTA has stated that in case the number of candidates opting for a city is less than a certain minimum, NTA reserves the right to merge one, two, or more cities. On the other hand, if the number of candidates opting for a city as the centre with a regional language is less than a certain minimum, candidates may be allotted a centre in another city irrespective of the city opted by the candidates for appearing in the examination. 

Choice of NEET 2023 exam centre cities will be limited to the state of permanent address or state of present address only. For convenience, candidates should select their own city or neighbouring cities in their
State of Residence only and not for far away cities in other States. "NTA will not be responsible for any inconvenience due to the incorrect selection of cities by the candidates," mentions the exam conducting body. 

Candidates must ensure that they upload their own photograph, signature and thumb impression. The same is applicable for the Class 10 Pass Certificate or Category Certificate as well. In case it is found that the candidate has used/uploaded the photograph, signature, and certificate(s) of someone else in his/ her NEET 2023 application form, it would be treated as Unfair Means (UFM) Practices
on his/her part and the actions will be taken under the provisions of Unfair Means Practices. 

While the total number of exam cities would be over 500, candidates will not be able to see the complete list from the drop-down menu while filling the NEET 2023 application form. The choice of exam cities displayed to the candidates will be based on the permanent and correspondence addresses entered during the NEET 2023 registration process. Hence, if a candidate based in Delhi wishes to select the exam city as Mumbai would not be able to do so unless his present or permanent address is in Maharashtra. 

While there is no additional fee amount levied for making change in the NEET 2023 application correction, in case a candidate changes the category or selects an international exam city, then he/she will have to pay the additional fee applicable in order to complete the application process. Otherwise it may lead to cancellation of candidature.

Candidates will have to follow the steps given below to make changes or corrections to the NEET 2023 application form:

• Visit the NEET 2023 official website – neet.nta.nic.in

• Click on the ‘Correction for NEET(UG)-2022 Is Available now’ tab on top of the page

• Log in using the application number, password and security code/captcha

• Click on the tab ‘Correction in Particulars’

• Enter the OTP

• Make changes in the editable fields

• Ensure the accuracy of information before clicking on final submission

• Save and print the NEET 2023 correction slip for future use

For candidates who have not verified their Aadhaar, the following fields can be edited:

• Name

• Parents’ name

• Date of Birth

• Gender

• Category and Sub-category

• Changing signature and photograph

• Past academic records

• Preference of exam centre city

• Preference of question paper medium/language

For Aadhaar-verified candidates, the following fields are uneditable:

• Candidate name

• Date of birth

• Gender

Following are the fields that cannot be edited by the candidates:

• Mobile Number

• Email Address

• Nationality

The following details can be edited in the NEET application correction window:

• Personal details such as name, date and place of birth, parents’ name, ID card details

• Communication details such as present and permanent address

• Academic details such as board name, name of school/college/institution/university, year of passing, percentage of marks obtained

• Medium of question paper

• Exam city preference

• Parents’/guardians’ profession and annual family income

• Documents uploaded such as photograph, signature and documents can be updated in requisite format if not done originally

NTA will provide an application correction window after the NEET 2023 application process is over. Only those candidates who have submitted the form by paying the requisite application fee will be able to edit or make changes to the application form. While candidates will be able to make changes in maximum fields, there are certain uneditable fields as well, which include email address, mobile number and nationality. 

Mathematics is not a compulsory subject to be studied in high school to be eligible for appearing in NEET 2023. In case a candidate has studied Mathematics in addition to Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology can appear for NEET. However, if a student has studied the combination of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, then he/she would not be eligible for NEET.

As per the NEET eligibility criteria, candidates must have studied the combination of the following subjects in Class 11 and Class 12:

• Physics
• Chemistry
• Biology/Biotechnology
• English

 The original NEET 2023 application date may get extended based on candidate requests or to allow more aspirants to complete the application process. NTA will also provide a correction facility for a window of two to three days after the NEET 2023 date for the application process is over.

Ever since the pandemic struck the nation, not just NEET, the academic schedule across streams underwent massive upheaval. Needless to say, NEET exam dates were also postponed between 2020 and 2022. The table below brings the original and postponed dates of NEET.

There is a possibility that NTA might release the notification and NEET 2023 application form on the same date. On the other hand, there are also instances from past years, when NTA announced the notification ahead of the application process.

NEET exam date was postponed in the past two years on account of COVID-19 pandemic. The table below brings the original and postponed dates of NEET.

However, in 2022, NEET was conducted on July 17, the originally announced date.

NTA is unlikely to postpone the exam date owing to the following factors:

• Normalising the academic schedule

• Avoiding additional and unnecessary administrative and logistics cost

• Avoiding inconvenience to well-prepared students

NTA may decide to postpone NEET 2023 based on the following factors:

• Multiple requests from students

• Court order or intervention from higher authorities

• External factors such as pandemic or natural calamity

• Clash with other entrance exams or Board exam

The types or categories of seats offered through the NEET UG exam are as follows:

The NEET 2023 eligibility criteria is state that candidates should have passed or appeared for Class 12 Board exam in Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as core subjects. The minimum age of candidates should be 17 years as on December 31, 2023. There is no upper age limit.

As of now, NTA has not given any indication regarding the postponement of the NEET 2023 exam. Moreover, owing to the delay in the NEET exam date and medical admission calendar for the past two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, NTA is endeavouring to bring back the NEET exam schedule similar to the pre-pandemic era. 

NTA will release the NEET 2023 application form anytime soon. With less than three months left for the exam, it is high time that the exam authorities release the application form and notification.

The details filled by candidates like candidate category, phone number, email, etc. in NEET 2023 application form will be used for the purpose of All India Quota (AIQ) seat counselling. No request for change in candidate category at the time of all India quota seats counselling will be entertained by the counselling authority designated by the Central Government

NEET 2023 registration will be treated as complete only if the fee has been transacted successfully, else the form will be cancelled. Candidates must note that the deduction of fee from the bank account is not proof of fee payment. The payment should be supported by an updated fee. The generation of the Confirmation page is proof of the successful submission of the NEET 2023 application form.

Candidates opting for Hindi or regional language NEET question papers will be provided Bilingual Test Booklet i.e. in Hindi/Regional Language and in English. In case of any ambiguity in the translation of any of the questions, its English version shall be treated as final. However, those opting for English question paper will be provided questions only in English language.

No, NEET 2023 application form has not been released yet. It is expected that NTA will release the NEET 2023 application form in the fourth week of February.

Candidates will have to enter the academic or educational details of three years, Class 10, Class 11 and Class 12. The information to be provided include the exam appearing status, Pass status, subjects studied in Class 11 and Class 12, aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA, Board, school name and address, among others.

Candidates will have to select as many as four NEET exam cities in the order of preference. According to NTA, the allotment of the NEET 2023 exam centre is made by computer and there is no human intervention. 

While filling the NEET 2023 application form, candidates will have to submit two OTPs, during registration process and towards the end of the form, to validate their email id. The Online Transaction Passwords or OTPs will be valid only for 15 minutes. After the lapse of this period, candidates need to click on the link “RESEND OTP” to generate a new OTP.

In case a candidate submits multiple NEET application forms, he/she will have to bear a penalty. Regarding this, NTA mentions, "If at any stage, including after declaration of result, it is found that the candidate has submitted duplicate forms or has been involved in any form of impersonation or fabricated facts, such candidate shall be liable for severe penalty including being debarred from taking the NTA examination for a period of three years. Such candidates shall also be liable for suitable criminal action under the relevant laws of the country."

Candidates should submit only one NEET 2023 application form. If a candidate submits more than one form, his/her candidature will be cancelled. NTA has stated, "If during any stage of examination, any doubt arises that a candidate has filled in multiple forms or impersonated or not provided genuine information or given fake or false, information or the likes such a candidate can be asked to give additional proof of his identity at any point of time."

List of certificates to be uploaded in the NEET 2023 application form are as follows:

• Class 10 Pass Certificate
• Category Certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS, etc.)
• PwBD Certificate
• Citizenship Certificate/ Embassy Certificate or any Documentary proof of Citizenship certificate

Candidates must ensure that the mobile numbers and email IDs filled in the online NEET 2023 application form are their own or parents/guardian only as NTA will communicate through SMS or e-mail on the given mobile number and e-mail ID.

Candidates appearing in Class 12 Board exam or equivalent exam in 2023 should select a qualifying code as 01. Those Candidates who have passed should fill Code [02 to 07] against the column
provided for in case of the Qualifying Examination section.

Candidates from UT of J&K and Ladakh are required to submit an online Self Declaration for seats under 15% All India Quota while filling the NEET 2023 application form. Candidates from other states must not check this option on the application form, otherwise it may lead to complication in fulfilling the eligibility criteria and admission process.

The candidates are not required to send the Confirmation Page of the online NEET 2023 application form or any other document to the NTA. However, the candidates are advised to preserve at least four copies of the Confirmation Page along with the proof of fee paid for future reference.

The Candidate should fill in complete correspondence and permanent address with the pin code, e-mail address, and mobile number (own or Parents/Guardian only) for future correspondence. Candidate should not give the postal address, contact number/mobile number, and email ID of Coaching Centres in their Online Application Form.

Candidates need to provide any one of the following identity details given below while filling the NEET 2023 application form:

NEET 2023 will be conducted on May 7 for a duration of 200 minutes. The timing of exam is 2 PM to 5.20 PM as per the Indian Standard Time (IST).

The NEET 2023 exam is conducted in a paper-pencil-based mode or offline mode. Candidates will be given a hard copy of the NEET question paper and an OMR sheet answer booklet. They will have to solve the questions in the answer booklet or the rough sheet provided and mark the correct answer options on the OMR sheet with a blue or black ball pen.

Candidates must ensure that they enter the details such as their name, contact details, address details, category, PwD status, educational qualification details, date of birth, choice of exam cities, etc. correctly as these data would be treated as final by NTA. Any request for change in such particulars will not be considered by NTA under any circumstances.

The NEET exam is conducted once a year. It is expected that NEET 2023 will also be conducted once. However, students and other stakeholders are demanding that NEET be held twice a year. The Ministry of HRD and NTA are mulling the idea of conducting NEET twice, but it is unlikely that the exam will be held twice this year itself.

NEET information brochure refers to a comprehensive and descriptive document or a handbook regarding the exam. The NEET 2023 information brochure will be released along with the application form tentatively in the first week of March. The NEET information brochure is a PDF document of around 140 pages, which includes detailed information such as important dates, eligibility criteria, application process and fee, exam pattern, syllabus, exam cities, among others.

Although there is no upper age limit for NEET 2023, there is a lower age limit of 17 years as on December 31, 2023. Even if a candidate is 15 years old during the NEET 2023 application duration, he or she will be eligible to apply as he or she would turn 17 by the end of the year.

NTA is expected to release the NEET 2023 notification anytime soon. The official notification and information bulletin may be declared by NTA by next week.

It is expected that around 18 lakh candidates will be applying for NEET 2023. The number is likely to increase from that of last year.

The NEET 2023 application mode will be completely online. Candidates will have to visit the official website of NEET 2023, neet.nta.nic.in to complete the application process. The first step is to register and generate the login credentials, followed by the application process. 

NTA had increased the NEET application fee last year across categories. Hence, the possibility of increasing the application fee cannot be ruled out completely. 

Candidates will have to upload images of their passport and postcard size photograph, signature, and thumb impression in JPG or JPEG formats. The certificates will have to be uploaded in PDF format.

There is a possibility that NTA might release the notification and NEET 2023 application form on the same date. On the other hand, there are also instances from past years, when NTA announced the notification ahead of the application process.

The NEET application form has to be filled in online mode only. However, there is an exception for the applicants residing in the Kashmir valley or Leh. The NEET 2023 application fee has to be paid using a credit card/ debit card, net banking, Paytm or UPI.

The NEET 2023 application window is likely to last for a month. It may be extended by NTA depending on the request by candidates.

NTA Chief Vineet Joshi has been quoted by The Indian Express as saying, "NEET UG 2023 registration will start by the end of this month." It is expected that NTA will release the official notification soon.

As per the latest news around NEET 2023, the application forms and the notification will be released in the fourth week of February. However, there is no official confirmation on this yet.

Candidates are advised to take 6-8 Passport size and 4-6 Post Card size (4” X6”) coloured photographs with white background. The photographs are to be used for uploading an Online Application Form, for examination, and also for Counselling/Admission. This is to ensure that the same photograph is used for all documents and all purposes related to NEET UG 2023. 

NTA provides additional platforms of UMANG and Digilocker to download their documents like Confirmation Page, Admit Card, Score Cards, etc. Instruction will be provided in subsequent phases.

Candidates must ensure that their email address and mobile number to be registered in their online Application Form are their own, as relevant/important information/communication will be sent by NTA through e-mail on the registered mail address and/or through SMS on the registered mobile number only.

NTA advises candidates to download the SANDES application on their mobile phones as a secondary channel to receive time-to-time notifications from NTA. The process to download the application is as follows:

• Visit the Google Play Store on your Mobile Device.
• Search for the “Sandes App” in the search bar.
• It then displays the app in the play store.
• Click on Install, and then the app gets downloaded to your mobile.
• Now, mobile users can enjoy the services of the Sandes Mobile App.

In case a candidate completes the NEET application form 2023 with an incorrect email address, he/she will not receive official email notifications. However, if the mobile number that you have registered on the NTA portal is correct, you will receive the same notification on your phone via SMS. NTA may allow candidates to change or correct their email addresses in the application correction window.

 Last year, the NEET application fee was increased by INR 100 for each category as compared to the previous year. It is expected that this year the NEET 2023 application fee will be the same as that of last year.
