Shiksha Exclusive: NEET UG 2025 AIR 3 Krishang Joshi Shares First-Attempt Success Strategy

In this conversation, NEET UG 2025 AIR 3 Krishang Joshi discusses his preparation strategy, subject-wise approach, and suggestions for future aspirants.
Krishang Joshi from Pune has secured All India Rank 3 in the NEET UG 2025 results, scoring an impressive 681 out of 720 in his first attempt. Aiming to pursue MBBS at AIIMS Delhi, Krishang emerged among the top performers out of 22.7 lakh test-takers. In this conversation, he discusses his preparation strategy, subject-wise approach, and suggestions for future aspirants.
Q: What was your reaction when you came to know about the NEET UG 2025 result?
Krishang Joshi: So first of all I was sleeping and then my Sir called me. I picked up Sir's call and Sir congratulated me—I didn't know for what. Sir told me that I got All India Rank 3. That was overwhelming. We were flooded with calls from relatives, from people we know. We didn't have time to answer each and every call. It took us a few days, I was flooded with calls from reporters, interviews. It was overwhelming, I did not expect that initially.
Q: And how did your parents and friends react?
Krishang Joshi: Yeah, my friends were also really happy, they were demanding a party. And my parents were also very very happy.
Q: Can you explain your NEET UG preparation strategy?
Krishang Joshi: For exams, it’s different for each subject. For physics, I focused on conceptual understanding and completing all the questions in modules. The momentum booster was very helpful. After I was comfortable with each and every type of question in a chapter, I moved on to the next. For chemistry—especially organic—and for biology, I focused on repeated readings of NCERT. The more you read, the more your focus goes into specific lines that are often asked. I also made special notes for organic chemistry because those questions can be tricky.
Q: Which topics did you find easy and which were challenging?
Krishang Joshi: Easy for me was physics and physical chemistry, as they involve less memorisation and more conceptual understanding. Difficult areas were inorganic and organic chemistry because you have to memorise a lot and understand many concepts.
Q: How did you manage board exams alongside NEET UG?
Krishang Joshi: Boards and NEET have the same syllabus. Preparing for NEET gives you a very solid understanding. For boards, you just need to write that understanding in subjective answers. Even if your answers aren’t perfect, CBSE examiners are quite lenient. You’ll still get marks if the concepts are conveyed decently.
Q: What did you do to relax during your preparation?
Krishang Joshi: I talked to my parents and friends or had some junk food to unwind and refresh myself.
Q: Which college are you planning to join?
Krishang Joshi: I’m aiming for AIIMS Delhi.
Q: Any advice for NEET UG 2026 aspirants?
Krishang Joshi: Focus on minimizing silly mistakes and increasing accuracy. Also, revise repeatedly and keep attempting mock tests. That’s the best way to track your progress.
