NIFT Registration 2026
NTA can release the NIFT 2026 UG and PG Applications anytime now on the website. The registration form will be available on the website of NIFT: nift.ac.in/admission. Candidates should check the eligibility criteria for each programme and then apply. The application fee is expected to be around INR 3,000 for Open categories and INR 1500 for SC, ST, and PwD categories). NIFT Entrance Exam is expected to be conducted in the second week of February 2026.

How to fill NIFT 2026 Application form?
Candidates meeting the prescribed eligibility criteria must apply for the exam following the process below.
- Register for the exam - To register for the exam, the candidate must first enter their Aadhaar number. Then enter personal details like name, email ID, and mobile number. On successful registration, an applicant account will be created.
- Fill in the form- Log in to the newly created account and fill in personal, academic, and contact details. Also, select an exam center for the NIFT 2026 exam.
- Upload documents- In this step, you will have to upload documents like photographs and signatures per the prescribed format.
- Pay the application fee - The candidate has to finally pay the application fee to complete the application process.

NIFT Written Exam 2026: Stage 1
NIFT written exams comprise the Creative Ability Test (CAT) and the General Ability Test (GAT). The GAT paper is mandatory for all courses. However, only B.Des and M.Des candidates need to take the CAT.

The NIFT 2026 application fee is category-specific. The application fee for General/OBC (Non-Creamy)/GEN-EWS Category. Meanwhile, those belonging to SC/ ST/ PwD Category need to pay only INR 1,500. The application fee has to be paid online using net banking, credit, or debit cards. The application fee will have to be paid at the time of filling out the NIFT application form. Note that payment made using demand draft will not be accepted.
