REET Normalisation Formula 2025

To ensure fairness and consistency in the evaluation process, the Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan (BSER) implements a normalisation procedure for REET 2025 results. This addresses the variations in difficulty levels across different exam shifts, ensuring that no candidate is unfairly advantaged or disadvantaged due to the shift they appeared in.

The REET normalisation process adjusts raw scores to a common scale, making the final result a more accurate reflection of each candidate’s performance. The normalisation formula used for REET 2025 is as follows:

Sij=μ+(Xij−μiσi)×σS_{ij} = \mu + \left( \frac{X_{ij} - \mu_i}{\sigma_i} \right) \times \sigmaSij=μ+(σiXij−μi)×σWhere:

  • SijS_{ij}Sij = Scaled marks of the jth candidate in the ith shift
  • XijX_{ij}Xij = Raw marks of the jth candidate in the ith shift
  • μi\mu_iμi = Mean of raw scores in the ith shift
  • σi\sigma_iσi = Standard deviation of raw scores in the ith shift
  • μ\muμ = Mean of raw scores of a designated reference shift (typically the third shift)
  • σ\sigmaσ = Standard deviation of raw scores of the reference shift

This standardised method helps bring parity across all shifts, thereby ensuring a transparent assessment process for REET result 2025.
