CUET UG 2025 topper shares his preparation strategy, daily routine, resource preferences, and tips for future aspirants.

With over 13.5 lakh students appearing for CUET UG 2025, securing All India Rank 2 is no small feat. But Arjav Jain, a standout performer, has done just that. With the CUET UG 2025 result announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on July 4, Arjav’s exceptional score has placed him among the top achievers in the country. In this exclusive interview, he shares his preparation strategy, daily routine, resource preferences, and tips for future aspirants. Arjav is now aiming for BA (Hons) Economics at SRCC, Delhi University. Here's how he did it:

Q. What was your overall strategy for CUET UG preparation, and how did you balance it with Class 12 board exams?

Arjav Jain: I initially focused on my Class 12 board exams, and once they were over, I began preparing for CUET. For the board exams, I relied on my teachers' notes and the supplementary book I trusted. As for CUET, my strategy was to begin with a thorough reading of the NCERT textbooks.

Q. Which subjects did you focus on the most, and how did you prioritise them?

Arjav Jain: I focused primarily on Maths, English, and Economics, and I prioritized them based on my exam schedule, giving more time to whichever subject was scheduled first.

Q. Did you follow NCERT textbooks alone, or did you refer to any additional resources/coaching material?

Arjav Jain: I mostly stuck to NCERT books for subjects like Economics, Accountancy, and Business Studies. But for Maths and English, I needed extra help, so I used coaching material and online platforms like Adda247.

Q. How did you structure your daily study routine during the final months before CUET UG?

Arjav Jain: I structured my schedule by setting daily targets. I gave myself clear benchmarks for what I needed to complete each day, and that really helped me stay focused and not lose interest while studying.

Q. What role did mock tests and previous year papers play in your preparation?

Arjav Jain: Mock tests and PYQs really helped me understand the exam pattern, which was quite different from board exams, and was also helpful in time management.

Q. What was the most challenging part of CUET UG for you, and how did you overcome it?

Arjav Jain: My most challenging part, like everyone experiences, was the stress the day before the examination because we can't expect the difficulty level of any paper, especially for Maths, English, and this time, Economics too. I overcame it by taking a long sleep the day before and doing last-minute revision during the night.

Q: Β  What is the total score in CUET UG?
Q: Β  What is a good score in CUET UG?
Q: Β  How hard is it to get admission in Delhi University for an average student?

Q. Did you ever feel stressed or doubtful during your preparation? How did you stay motivated?

Arjav Jain: Yes, I did feel stressed during my preparation, but I realised that when you are stressed, instead of forcing yourself to study, you should take some time to relax and do whatever you like for at least 15–20 minutes.

Q. How did your school, teachers, or coaching support you during this time?

Arjav Jain: My school teachers were very helpful during my CUET time; if I had any doubt, I could contact them and get it clarified. I also took coaching, which was there to clear my doubts.

Q. Was there a specific moment or turning point when you realised you could be among the top rankers?

Arjav Jain: I actually didn't realise that I could ever be among the toppers because during such exams, you don’t have much time to recheck your answers, and there is always that worry whether I marked something wrong or missed something by mistake.

Q. What course and college are you aiming for now, and why did you choose that path?

Arjav Jain: I am aiming to pursue Eco Hons at SRCC, Delhi University. I chose it because I have an interest in practical subjects that require thinking beyond books, and I personally like Maths, which makes the course even more appealing to me.

Q. How has cracking CUET UG changed your life or boosted your confidence?

Arjav Jain: Cracking the CUET UG surely changed my life by making me believe that in the future, if I continue to work hard like this for any examination or career path, I’ll have the hope that yes, I can crack that too.

Q. What’s one thing you’d do differently if you had to start your CUET UG journey again?

Arjav Jain: If I had to do something different, I would have preferred to focus more on English during my Class 12 and also give a thorough reading to NCERT textbooks.
