CUET UG 2025 topper shares his preparation strategy, daily routine, resource preferences, and tips for future aspirants.
More than 13.5 lakh students appeared for CUET UG in 2025 and securing All India Rank 2 is an achievement. Arjav Jain, a standout performer, has done that. National Testing Agency has announced CUET UG result in which Arjav is among top achievers. In this exclusive interview he talks about his preparation strategy, daily routine, resource preferences, and tips for future aspirants.
Q. What was your overall strategy for CUET UG preparation, and how did you balance it with Class 12 board exams?
Arjav Jain: I initially focused on my Class 12 board exams, and once they were over, I began preparing for CUET. For board exams, I relied on my teachers' notes and supplementary book I trusted. For CUET, my plan was to start with thorough reading of NCERT textbooks.
Q. Which subjects did you focus most, and how did you prioritize them?
Arjav Jain: : I focused mainly on Maths, English, and Economics, and I gave priority as per my exam schedule, giving more time to subject which was scheduled first.
Q. Did you follow NCERT textbooks only, or you referred to additional resources/coaching material?
Arjav Jain: I mostly stuck to NCERT books for subjects like Economics, Accountancy, and Business Studies. But for Maths and English, I needed extra help, so I used coaching material and online platforms like Adda247.
Q. How did you plan your daily study routine months before CUET UG?
Arjav Jain: I structured my schedule by setting daily targets. I gave myself clear benchmarks for what I needed to complete each day, and that really helped me stay focused and not lose interest while studying.
Q. What role mocks and previous year papers play in your preparation?
Arjav Jain: I would say mocks and PYQs really helped me understand exam pattern, which was different from board exams, and was also helpful in time management.
Q. What was most challenging part of CUET UG for you, and how did you overcome it?
Arjav Jain: My most challenging part was stress the day before examination because we can't predict difficulty level of any paper, especially for Maths, English, and this time, Economics too. I overcame it by taking a long sleep day before and doing last minute revision during night.
Q. Did you ever feel stressed or doubtful? How did you stay motivated?
Arjav Jain: I did feel stressed during my preparation, but I realised that when you are stressed, instead of forcing yourself to study, you should take some time to relax and do whatever you like for at least 15 to 20 minutes.
Q. How your school, teachers, or coaching supported you during this time?
Arjav Jain: My school teachers were very helpful during my CUET time; if I had any doubt, I could contact them and get it clarified. I also took coaching, which was there to clear my doubts.
Q. Was there a moment or turning point when you realised you could be among top rankers?
Arjav Jain: I actually didn't realise that I could ever be among the toppers because during such exams, you donβt have much time to recheck your answers, and there is always that worry whether I marked something wrong or missed something by mistake.
Q. What course and college are you looking for?
Arjav Jain: I am planning for Economics Hons at SRCC College of Delhi University. I have decided it because I have an interest in practical subjects that require thinking beyond books, and I personally like Maths, which makes the course even more appealing to me.
Q. How qualifying CUET changed your life?
Arjav Jain: CUET UG has surely changed my life by making me believe that in future if I continue to work hard like this for any examination or career path, Iβll have the hope that yes, I can crack that too.
