The course is 4 years long divided into 8 semesters. The basic requirements of the course include a minimum of 50% aggregate in class 12th Board exams in the PCB stream.

SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre accept students on an entrance basis for some of its programmes, such as MBBS and MD/MD.
