The exam authorities of National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) 2020, NISER Bhubaneswar and CEBS DAE, University of Mumbai have decided to postponed the examination. The entrance exam, NEST 2020 that was scheduled to be held on August 10 got postponed due to Coronavirus pandemic. However, the entrance exam, NEST 2020 will be rescheduled to a new date when the situation is much better.
The official email sent to registered candidates to notify them about the exam postponement stated, "In view of the surge in COVID-19 infections across the country, the safety of the students is paramount and keeping that in view and to ensure quality education, NEST has decided to postpone the exam which was scheduled on 10th August 2020. Keep checking the https://www.nestexam.in/ website regularly for important updates. Take Care. Stay Safe."
The official website was updated with information as under:
The exam authority has closed the application window on June 14 itself and, candidates were given the chance to change their exam centre preferences until June 14. It is not clear whether the application correction window will reopen for candidates as the exam has been postponed. The admit card of NEST 2020 will be issued to the registered candidates only after the revised exam date is confirmed.
The exam is now likely to be held only after August as it is expected to be among the peak months considering the confirmed cases continue to surge all over the country. NEST will be held in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode in more than 90 test cities across India.
Candidates appearing for the entrance exam should not worry as they got extra time in hand to prepare for NEST 2020

There is no option to get NISER with 60 marks. The safe marks in NEST for NISER admission are 120+ marks.

The following candidates are eligible to apply for NISER 2026.
- Candidates who have completed class 10+2 from a recognised board with at least three out of four disciplines - Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology.
- Obtained 60% marks (55% for SC, ST and Divyangjan categories) in aggregate.
