Hello Mukilan, The eligibility for aeronautical engineering branch is same as that for any other branch of engineering. Entrance exam, scoring of min marks in 12th besides age of the candidate etc. As far as placement is concerned, top notch colleges are able to place students but problems crop up for other colleges. But its not only for this branch. As per HRD ministry's report, last year only 50% of fresh engineering graduates could find placements. But things are bound to change for better keeping in mind the economic strides happening in India.

Hello Sachin, Each state has its own rules and regulation controlling the process of lateral admission directly to 2nd year of engineering after completion of Diploma. Its the DTE of tech edu of each state that decides on the matrix of eligibility for a particular branch of engineering from different branches of Diploma holders. Hello Abhishek, Even though your query has come to my knowledge very late, I will try to answer it since I feel its still relevant. National Defense Academy at Pune accepts candidates after a very rigorous process. There are no colleges that teach how to crack its entrance test. One is eligible to appear for entrance test conducted by UPSC after 12th exam. Successful candidates undergo test at services selection centres. Merit list is made then without any reservation and successful candidates intimated.

For admission in Aeronautical Engineering you have to clear class 12 with physics, chemistry and maths with minimum 50% marks. For admission in I. T You have to clear class 12 with a minimum of 60% marks. For ST/SC candidate 5% relaxation is given. Regards.

Hello Prem, Aeronautical engineering is quite the preferred subject of many aspirants of engineering college. To get admission In IIT Mumbai, you really need to score high. In other colleges and states too a student needs to score reasonably well to get admission.

Hello Aadil, Its very nice to see your dream of studying abroad. But getting admission abroad after Diploma is tough proposition. Normally 12 years of school education, college education begins. In India some institutions do consider Diploma as equivalent to 12th but many don't. Hence I would advise you to approach an agency dealing with sending students abroad for knowing different nuances in this issue.
