Hello Rahul, India is witnessing a boom in its industry. Trade is going up by almost 10% every year. This invariably is via sea. Hence I feel marine engineering has many opportunities in years to come. So my advise is marine engineering.

Firstly, let me congratulate you on deciding to go for graduation. Yes, many states allow mechanical Diploma holders to pursue degree course laterally in aeronautical engineering branch. But to be on safer side please go through webpage of dte of tech edu of your state. Be that as it may, I would advise you to continue with mechanical stream since it has huge opportunities of employement.

Yes, you have heard correctly. Placements for aeronautical engineers is a bit on the lower side and especially for core job. Even an alumni of IIT Mumbai in this branch could not make career in this but is now CEO of Infosys. This tells us that if you have will, you will succeed. Branch does not matter.
