Aircraft Maintenance Engineering course will prepare you to have role of service engineer with airlines by training you on all aspects of aircraft operation and maintenance including handling & servicing of ground handling equipments. In order to get a job you will have to obtain a particular aircraft maintenance license. As it is a niche profession, jobs are lesser but jobs are very high paying.

Aeronautical Engineering has good scope in India. AE Graduates are employed in DRDO, ISRO, Aeronautical manufacturing companies and their ancillaries, Airlines in Maintenance engineer roles, Indian Air Force, IT companies with Engineering vertical, R&D units as acedmics.

Rajat there are many good institutions offering B.Tech Aeronautics/ Aerospace. Admission in some is strictly based on JEE scores. In case your JEE score doesn't let you take admission or you din't give JEE, then don't get disheartened. Try for admission somewhere else.
These days we have so many good private universities also imparting quality education to the students around the world. They offer you admission on JEE scores/ tests conducted by them/ your marks in 12th. Some of these also offer good scholarships based on any one of the above-mentioned admission criteria.

If you course is equivalent to B.Tech in Aeronautical Engineering then you are eligible to apply for Technical Officer role in Aeronautical Engineering branch of Indian Air Force. In case your course is not equivalent to engineering degree you are recommended to obtain Associated Membership of Aeronautical Society of India for job in IAF.
