Many people would say that after getting experience, one must do an MBA as they get an advantage. Well, it is not an advantage they get; they get a better role and better pay just because they have practically seen the working conditions and how cooperates work. For some company you might get a lower pay or designation if you are a fresher, but that doesn't mean you are at a disadvantage. But, doing a job before an MBA gives you an additional advantage of deciding whether you should go for an MBA or not. I did not want to do an MBA, but looking at the responsibilities and work assigned to MBA graduates at my organisation; I made up my mind to do an MBA. Therefore, if you are clear that you want to do an MBA, you should do it as soon as possible given the fact that some companies candidates with prior work-ex, but then there are other companies who only want freshers.

The eligibility criteria of both of the courses of DU's are given below. (a) B.A (Hons. ) Economics :
1. An aggregate of 45% marks in the qualifying examination.
2. The merit shall be determined on the basis of one language and three best academic/elective subjects.
3. The applicants must have studied and passed Mathematics at the qualifying exam for admission to B.A. (Honours) in Economics. (b) B.Com (Hons. )
1. An aggregate of 45% marks in the qualifying examination.
2. The applicant must have studied and passed Mathematics/Business Mathematics at the qualifying examination for admission to B.Com. (Hons. ).
3. Selection shall be made on the basis of marks obtained in qualifying examination including one language and three best subjects as per the following:
4. An aggregate of 45% or more in English/Hindi and combination of best three among the following subjects: Mathematics, Accountancy, Economics and Business Studies/ Commerce.
5. Inclusion of any subject from List B other than mentioned above in the combination of best three will lead to a deduction of 1% per subject on the aggregate.
6. Inclusion of any subject other than those in Lists A and B in the combination of best three will lead to a deduction of 2.5% per subject on the aggregate of the best four. So from above, Maths at 12th is mandatory for both of the courses of Delhi University.
