I would suggest you to proceed with core Java + Advanced Java combination. Learning Core Java + Advanced Java combination on Unix/ Linux environment will be an added advantage.

1. Core Java + Advanced Java combination helps you to develop not only stand-alone applications, but also helps in developing web-based applications.
2. Learning Core Java + Advanced Java combination puts you a step ahead, if you go for android programming as well because android programming has its roots in Java programming.
3. Ninety percent of the start-up companies work on the JAVA environment. So, it provides you a well-protected backup in the unfortunate event of not being selected in top MNCs. In such cases, experience in start-ups act as a boost to bang back into the top MNCs.

B.Tech CSE graduates are the most sought after graduates by Indian IT industry. Therefore, if you want to start your career, you can start your career in the industry now. If you were not selected in campus placement then you may join training companies such as Alchemy which prepare ready to deploy resources for IT industry. If you want to specialize, you may opt for M.Tech or MS. If you are not technically oriented and not good at programming, you may opt for MBA. You can also try for a job in PSUs by appearing in GATE. You may opt for civil services examination too which is conducted by UPSC. You can also evaluate joining Armed Forces or Paramilitary forces. Banking services is also a good career option for you.
