Biotechnology course is all about using concepts of biology for tweaking and modifying biological systems, cell structures, biological processes etc so that they can be used in engineering and technology related applications to improve and enrich various sectors such as healthcare, food processing, agriculture, pharmaceuticals etc and solve problems arising in these sectors.
Eligibility criteria for pursuing B.Tech in most of the top universities is pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with physics, mathematics and English) and you have to qualify some entrance test of the university.

10+2 with 60% with Group- Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Computer Science. Admission to B.Sc. and B.Tech is entirely based on merit, no entrance test is conducted. Students with the highest scores are shortlisted for admission to TNAU. A stipulated application fee of Rs.1000/- must be submitted by the candidates which can be paid online as well as offline.
