US News has ranked Rutgers - New Brunswick in the top 20 national universities in US for 2022-23. It has been ranked #19, a slight move from #23 from last year. While Rutgers - Newark was at no. 53, it has also moved upwards and among the top 100 public universities in the US. For social mobility, Rutgers-Newark was ranked in the top 10 of national universities at #7 while Rutgers-New Brunswick #63. Carleton University is popular for its courses in Journalism, Public Affairs, International Affairs, Architecture, and Technology. Apart from this, the university consistently ranks in the Top 5 among comprehensive universities in Canada. Furthermore, as per Maclean, Carleton was the first university in Canada to establish a graduate degree in Public Administration, and it is also home to the country's oldest 4-year journalism programs. Carleton University also boasts one of the largest Engineering faculty members in the country.

Shastri Research Student Fellowship is given for students who are admitted in Bachelor’s, Masters’s and M.Phil level courses in recognised Canadian universities, colleges or institutions of higher education. This scholarship awards CAD 500 to CAD 1,000 (INR 30.50k - 51k) for up to 8 – 12 weeks and it is meant to support the students to undertake research, study an e-course, or take part in an e-internship. This scholarship is given only to the students who have completed at least six months of their course from a member of the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute.
