US News has ranked Rutgers - New Brunswick in the top 20 national universities in US for 2022-23. It has been ranked #19, a slight move from #23 from last year. While Rutgers - Newark was at no. 53, it has also moved upwards and among the top 100 public universities in the US. For social mobility, Rutgers-Newark was ranked in the top 10 of national universities at #7 while Rutgers-New Brunswick #63. Since 2019, U.S. News has factored in the school’s success at promoting social mobility by measuring the success of students who received Federal Pell Grants.

The UNBC Masters Tuition Scholarship is a graduate award offered by the university itself. This scholarship reduces half the value of the tuition fee units for the degree programme into which the student has been accepted. This scholarship is for a full-time student who has successfully competed for a national or provincial scholarship or fellowship equal to or greater than CAD 10,000. Students must keep a satisfactory academic standing to maintain the scholarship.

Both the University of Northern British Columbia and Memorial University of Newfoundland are public research universities. The Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2023 ranked the University of Northern British Columbia in the range of #801-1000 and Memorial University of Newfoundland in the range of #601-800 in the world.

Shastri Research Student Fellowship is given for students who are admitted in Bachelor’s, Masters’s and M.Phil level courses in recognised Canadian universities, colleges or institutions of higher education. This scholarship awards CAD 500 to CAD 1,000 (INR 30.50k - 51k) for up to 8 – 12 weeks and it is meant to support the students to undertake research, study an e-course, or take part in an e-internship. This scholarship is given only to the students who have completed at least six months of their course from a member of the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute.
