No, you cannot get admission to a National Law University (NLU) if you have failed in Class 12th. To be eligible for NLU admission, candidates must have passed their Class 12th examination or an equivalent exam with a recognised board or institution. The eligibility criteria typically require candidates to have secured a minimum percentage in Class 12th (often around 45% for general category and 40% for reserved categories). If you have failed, you would need to clear your Class 12th exams before applying for NLU admission. Ensure you meet the eligibility requirements before attempting to apply.

Assam University can be considered competitive as admission is based on the entrance exam scores. Courses such as BTech in Computer Science and Engineering are hard to get due to the high cutoff in JEE Main. For other courses, the university accepts the CUET UG exam. 50% of BTech seats are reserved for the permanent residents of Assam, and the remaining 50% are for All India candidates. However, admission also depends on academic performance and individual preference. 

To get into an NLU through CLAT, your rank depends on the NLU's tier and your category. For top NLUs like NLSIU, NALSAR, and WBNUJS, a rank under 500 is required. Mid-tier NLUs like HNLU, RMLNLU, and NLUO admit candidates with ranks between 500-4000. Lower-ranked NLUs accept candidates up to 12000 ranks. Category-based reservations lower the cutoff for SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates. A General category student should aim for a rank under 4000 to secure an NLU seat. Higher ranks may still secure admission in later rounds.
