Dear Prasanthi,
I would say after Diploma, you should to do job for at least 6 months (not more than 1 year), and then start your B.Tech. This work experience will not just help you while getting admission in top college, but also gives you more preference while shortlisting in for Placement. Because, employer generally needs those students who do have qualifications along with good experience. And, the big advantage is that after doing Diploma, you can get lateral entry in 3rd year (or 2nd) of B.Tech, which gives you enough time for gaining industrial exposure.

For B.Tech, you have to give JEE Mains and secure a good marks approximately 200, if you are in a general category. For post graduate in engineering, you have to give GATE.

B.Sc is obviously a wise choice than opting for a Diploma course. Reason being, a degree course is considered more valid and credible over a Diploma when it comes to employment. Also, apart from getting into practical designing field, a person with B.Sc. Degree can also find job opportunity as a teaching faculty in an interior design school. Also, one can work in design research field as well.

Hello Priyanshu, Fire and safety is a must in every industry. In fact all industries have to employ trained personnel for this job. Hence I feel that there are enough opportunities for employment after you do this course.

Toughness of a course mostly depends on the aptitude of the candidate and their ability to read and understand a course better than the other. It is mostly a state of mind. Diploma in architecture is as tough, if not tougher than its counter part (Diploma in Civil engineering). Architecture is of 5-5.5 years duration wheres a B.Tech in civil engineering is of 4 years duration.
You should pursue a course which you feel comfortable doing/studying, and where your interest lie. Regards.
