A student who has completed his/her 10+2 education with minimum 60% aggregate marks and is from the Science and maths background can take up a Diploma course in engineering which is of one year and then can directly take admission to the B.Tech after Diploma. Students who have completed the Diploma are eligible for the B Tech course as well as students are also eligible for entry into the second year thus enabling students to complete their b tech in 3 year time frame. AICTE has made it mandatory for all the universities to follow this guideline on a strict basis. Students have to submit all their documents like 10th class proof and Diploma to the university admission department. Once documents are verified, they have to fill the application form. As a friend I would suggest you to first complete your BCA as you have already dedicated your 1 valuable year to it. Also, there are very few good institutes offering a Journalism course at Bachelor level. Keeping in mind your keen interest towards Journalism, I would suggest you to pursue a part time Certificate course in Journalism and after completing your BCA you can opt for a full time PG in Journalism or Mass Comm. Till that time to enhance Journalistic skills you can try Citizens Journalism. Journalism as a career is very challenging and requires a lot of hard work and patience. To become a good journalist you need to have a good command over English, Hindi and your regional language.
