Students with MBA by distance learning are eligible to seek admission in regular PhD if degree is done from a recognised university or Institute. In fact you can also do PhD by distance learning from IGNOU, AIMA-Aligarh university etc.

MBA from IGNOU is really a good option. The fee structure is under INR 15000. The course is for 2 years.

Don't do it through correspondence, do it in distance mode. It will be a value addition. It is definitely beneficial.

Yes it's a 2 year course and AIMA PGDM is distance but in the certificate nothing of this sort will be mentioned. Are you currently studying in UWBS or you have taken admission only?
